Congratulations from me as well mmm. I know what you mean about it not sinking in,mine was just few days before you and I still have to pinch myself to realise it's true!! I got my chairman's report and certificate of completion 5 days after the meeting so thought that was pretty quick. All the best...

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. Yes, a great sense of relief. I am older, wiser and will definitely be remaining debt free forever! The IVA was stressful but I've learned so much about handling money so a positive side to the whole situation too. Debtmonkey: I had 17 payments left of 444 pe...

Hi Everyone. My variation meeting is tomorrow at 2pm. Just had email from my IP to re-assure me,(the jitters are kicking in big time!!). She says she doesn't think there will be a problem as Max Recovery, who own most of the debt, have already lodged an acceptance proxy and she says it would be unus...

Thanks Melanie. Journey is a very apt term. I feel that the journey has been a long one,pre-dating the IVA and leading to it, and will continue now, but with a far more educated attitude towards money and budgeting.I have learned so much along the way albeit that life has been very stressed at times...

Hi Beau77. I got the same advice from the forum with regard to it being your right to put forward what you think is a reasonable offer. I felt much more empowered after receiving that advice here and you will be amazed at how quickly things happen once you take a more assertive role! I found that my...

Thanks Michael.I also hope it's not premature and certainly won't "count my chickens before they are hatched!" But have a certain amount of hope now. Will let you know the outcome after 28th.

Hi everyone. Just heard that my variation meeting is convened for 28th October. My IP says that, although technically they can change their minds up to 28th october, she has received acceptance proxies from enough of the creditors to approve my offer so fingers crossed it should go through ok. Great...

Hi Everyone, Sorry not to have updated sooner, hectic summer etc! I am in negotiation with my IP as regards variation meeting. She has looked at my I&E,and agrees that I can no longer afford the amount I have been paying,(£444 per month). I do wish I had queried it before as I have struggled to pay ...

I thought so myself. Was rushing off to work at the time I spoke to her this morning so didn't question it.
If it doesn't come tommorrow then I will ask her to email it.
She doesn't seem very keen on communicating via email but I will insist if it doesn't come in post tommorrow.

Hi everyone. Just an update. I sent off my I&E last week. Very scary as my income minus expenditure leaves only £50 which shows me why I have been struggling to pay £444 per month to IVA. Looking back at copies of all my I&E forms, it shows that my income has remained same over the 3 years but expen...

Hi everyone. Have had a good conversation with my IP this morning. She told me that at the moment a Full and Final settlement might not be the way forward as my job insecurity is a worry rather than something that has actually happened, although my salary has infact dropped over the past 12 months. ...
