I'm 2 years into my IVA and my car is dying on me so my mum has offered to buy me a new car. It's not a new car but a used car and she doesn't know about my IVA but she does know i'm paying my debts which is why she's offered to buy the car for me. Is this something I should be declaring or do the I...

Hi Guys
Just wanted to ask about my bonus from work I received. I paid half to my IVA but my question was if that payment goes towards the total of the IVA I am paying, so I may finish paying off earlier, or if it's extra to total?
Thanks

My car is likely to die on me sometime soon and was wondering about options when in an IVA. My mum has offered to lend me the money so i can pay her back monthly rather than borrow money but mum doesn't know about my IVA so firstly, is this an option as it is not a company loan although with no inte...

I'm currently in my first year of an IVA and currently have a mortgage however, I would like to move in with my boyfriend which would mean giving up my mortgage and paying rent to my boyfriend. I am happy to do this as I realise I will not get another mortgage whilst I'm in my IVA however I do have ...

Hi Relieved 33
What did he actually say to you? I'm only asking as I've also had problems and my contingency's also been spent on the car and have been worried about what happens if my car dies on me as i need it for work which is 30 miles away.
Thanks

Hi Michael and thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my house is Shared Ownership so I am unable to rent it out, otherwise that would have been a really great idea. My worry about renting from my boyfriend is that, after I've been paying rent for a time, whether it would be assumed that I owned a sma...

I have recently entered into an IVA. I have a mortage currently for my home and would, next year, like to move in with my boyfriend but my worry is, as he has a mortage too, will my IVA affect him? I understand that my house currently has no equity and that I will need to re mortgage in year 4 but, ...

Thanks for getting back so quickly!! I must have had my wires crossed. I thought I'd be paying my IVA for 5 years then an additonaly 6 years after I'd still have the IVA on my credit where as BR would be one year in BR then an additional 6 years. I really don't want to go BR and the IVA route would ...

How come if you go BR you have bad credit for less time than you do if you take out an IVA? I've been told that IVA will mean no credit for 5 years whilst paying and another 6 after the payments have finished. With BR I've been told it's only 1 year plus 6. Is this correct? Surely the fact that you'...
