I am in early stages on arranging a DMP with VB and have to say they are wonderful, could not ask for a better service. They are always an email away, I have been worried to death over last few weeks about our situation and just being able to email VB and get a reply within the hour most times, has ...

Thats exactly what we were told Melanie and we are happy to go down DMP route. The service we have received so far from the company we were recommended has been fantastic. I think I have to accept the calls and letter and going to be part of the siutation we have got ourselves into. Probably best to...

Hi Melanie It was the advice from your company. At present we have very little DI but this will increase considerably within next 6 mths when I am back in full time employment. At present we can only afford to pay £300 into a DMP but this will increase to £1200. Also majority of debt with MBNA. It h...

Hi, we are in the early stages of setting up a DMP with a company highly recommended on this site. We have joint debts are £90k and 14 creditors. I took a call from a creditor last week and was made to feel like a criminal, came off the phone in tears. I have been too scared to answer the phone sinc...

Did you arrange it youself Jan or did you use a company. Some of the company's charge whereas others don't, would not mind having a go at trying to arrange it myself though, but not sure whether my creditors would take me seriously.

Thanks for your supportive posts, I don't feel quite so alone now. Well I have spoken to IP office and it seems IVA may not be route for us but DMP would be better option. This scares the hell out of me even more, as not going to have any legal protection and heard horror stories about them. Anyone ...

I have spoken to CAB again regarding the intermediary firm that they are being referring us to. We do have to pay this firm a fee. So told them we will go direct to IP ourselves. Have approached 2 IP's, waiting to hear whether we are suitable for an IVA, so fingers crossed x

Thanks Angela,

I must admit I am only assuming we will be paying 2 fees. Perhaps I will wait until we meet with the debt consultant, 2 wks, not going to make alot of difference to our situation now. The money advisor at CAB will be writing to our creditors, so thats something.

Thanks for you advice. I want to go direct to IP but my hubby wants to follow what CAB are advising us, debt consultant not coming to see us for 10 days, just want to get things moving now. I think i will contact a few IP's though. I have today sent token monthly payments to all our creditors, feel ...

Hello Finally decided to take our head out of sand and sort our finances out. Went to see CAB a few days ago and they feel an IVA may be the most suitable option in our circumstances. They are going to arrange for a Debt and Insolvency consultant to meet with us. The consultant is not an IP, we will...
