Hi Andy - We are in a position where we could enter into an IVA but my partner is not in agreement with this at present... It seems that my partner wishes to try and negotiate with the mortgage company for a freeze on interest and pay them £200 per month indefinately - I think this is unrealistic as...

Could someone answer me - What is a realistic figure to have spare to pay out on an IVA - I know the minimum is £200, I would like to keep to this if I can - There must be other items such as memberships that we can add onto our expeniture? We have been told a food allowance for two should be £325 -...

An IVA does seem the best way forward for us - If it is truely £368 per month then this should be affordable for us - I know I will continue to worry until it is all sorted out and thank you all for your positive vibes over this - It is refreshing to hear and speak with people who have gone through ...

Also we are considering using Debt Free Direct and have their pack - has anyone else used them at all? They have calculated that we have £368 that we can put to the IVA - M...

Hi Jan, Thanks for the information - I am so scared that we will end up destitute worrying about those unforseen bills and how to live really... It seems that you have got a handle on it for sure, which is great - I guess as I (we) are only just embarking on our journey with this mess, it seems a mo...

A serious question - If your disposable income goes into the IVA - How are you meant to enjoy life really? What if the car goes wrong, or you need to pay for something real urgent? Curious how others here cope for five years - a long time!

No - our IP has been an early stage contact only - They have said that we should complete their forms and post it all back within 14 days... I did explain to them our situation in full and they said that we should 'consider' another bank account - We cannot set up a bank account in the new address a...
