Thanks for giving me that info regarding the house - I just automatically thought that it would get taken away. I'm going to contact the mortgage company tonight and see what they say, but I don't hold much hope. As you quite rightly say - I have given the IVA a good go but circumstances have change...

Thanks for the replies all, I guess it's not going to be good news. I have no equity in the property at all, in fact I have quite a bit of negative equity. The IP said that if I couldnt get something suitable sorted with the mortgage lender then I should contact her again and we can talk about what ...

Thanks for all your replies :) I'm with Bank of Ireland, they are increasing the SVR that they charge by 1.50% to 4.49% in two stages, first by 1.00% in June then another 0.5% in September. I spoke to my IP and the increase wipes out my IVA payments by all but £30. She advised me to talk to the mort...

Hello everyone, I have been in an IVA for 2 years now and apart from 2 variations I had to make (lowered my payments but extended the IVA to 6 years) when my partner had to give up work due to ill health, everything is going well so far. However I had a letter this morning from my bank saying that t...

Thanks for the reply Michael, I will get on to my IP and have a chat about a break. We are looking into what benefits she may be allowed.

Hopefully its not going to be as bad as it first seemed - I think I just went into a bit of a panic without thinking things through first.

I openend a CashMinder account when I first started my IVA process and I must say that the Co-Op are brilliant, I did it all over the phone and I guess the whole process took about 10 days or so. I also got sent one of the card readers by the Co-Op when i opened my Cashminder account a couple of mon...

Yay - all approved, my IVA is offical, 60 months to being debt free !!!!! There were a couple of modifications which didn't really affect things too much and so I'm going to have a nice Christmas this year without the worry of what bills are going to come through the letterbox in January. Just 60 pa...

Hi Simon, I am in a similar position to yourself as far as just starting the IVA process is concerned, and although I am still getting the phone calls as the IVA isn't fully in place yet, all I can say is keep your chin up and get through this part and I'm sure all will be sorted out before you know...

Thankyou all for your kind welcome and good advice, it made a lot of sense, and the panic has abated a little [:)] The house valuation has had to be put off until tomorrow, but I think that I have now got all the paperwork I need, other than the valuers letter. Fingers crossed all goes well for ever...
