We have just decided to change from BT to Virgin for the 50meg package broadband as BT keep capping us at 1meg, saying we are using too much[:0], anyway, I can confirm that yes, they do a FULL credit check, we tried putting it in my name, they said "oo have you ever been bankrupt?" [:I] Then they tr...

Interesting thread. We went bankrupt after having an IVA proposal drawn up but at the last minute decided that we would rather go bankrupt, clean slate and all that. We never even saw the judge and our petitions were granted no problem. Even though we technically could have tried the IVA, we chose n...

I don't come through Google, I have straight links to this site and the bankruptcy site and yesterday my virus and firewall protection were saying that both sites were trying to download a trojan horse to my computer. Seems ok today but was this an outside attempt on these 2 websites or was it somet...

have you ever had a house repossessed? I was told that if we let our house be repossessed we would go on a repossession register and would NEVER get another mortgage in our lives! We weren't bothered as we now have a council house.

Ostrich are an IVA company, they were the company we approached, my advice is not to touch them. I was concerned with some of their advice to us, we ended up with another debt, £2000 for the estate agent/solicitor as we tried to sell the house, Ostrich would not add this onto our proposal, instead, ...

Welcome Finance are well known for their "dodgy" recovery tactics, (charging you for them calling you, high interest, etc) I know its not much help to you now, but you must have been aware of this when you signed the credit agreement

we pay £20 per month insurance, for both cats £15 per month for a bag of James Wellbeloved dried food, which they have down all day to nibble on £4 per box of Felix pouches, that is just a little treat for them and they share a pouch per day for breakfast and that box lasts about 2 weeks litter, we ...

I have 2 cats and I did when we went bankrupt, the max allowance is £21 for both.
The insurance is £20 per month (that is our allowance gone) and we use our shopping budget to buy litter and cat food. and also have to save up for worming, fleaing, injections, etc

I thought he might buy it too but he didn't, I was being nosey and bought a copy of the Land Registry and I know the name of the person who bought the house and how much they paid for it. It is now being rented out and they got a bargain. The cash buyer we had was paying enough to pay off all secure...

I was in this postion and yes, the secured loan company blocked the sale, we had a cash buyer lined up too, but they refused to release their charge on the house we had no option but to let the house be repossessed and then went bankrupt, thus making the shortfall larger by another £40,000 by the ti...

nicely side-stepping my question there, I refer to this thread as an example http://www.bankruptcyhelp.org.uk/forum/topic.asp?whichpage=1&TOPIC_ID=8675#37696 This is just one of a number of cases recently where CCCS is telling debtors they are not ALLOWED to go bankrupt, call me cynical but is this ...
