"To be frank, I cannot see the difference between your employer reimbursing you a £10k expense bill after it has been incurred rather than beforehand - unless of course they are facing their own financial difficulties, in which case you want to be careful that you do not end up the wrong side of a l...

"Is there any reason you didn't do an IVA initially?" Payplan mentioned it, but it sounded like it was more to the advisors benefit than mine. To be honest I decided to test the waters first with a DMP. If the debt stopped increasing I'd have a shot at paying it off, I figure if it was going to stop...

Sounds like a daft question I know but I'm currently on a DMP with Payplan which to be honest feels like a waste of time. I know they say they can't guarantee that charges and interest will be frozen but I am unimpressed by the takeup so far. I am looking at an IVA and bankruptcy but I feel it best ...

It sounds to me like this is a serious breach of the OFT's guidance on debt collection... I see little difference between this and trying to collect on a statue barred debt since it seems in both cases they are lying. If you are really angry I would make the complaint, I imagine the FOS or any simil...

If you are able to quit then you'd have the allowance left over, I would've thought that was a bit enough incentive...

The posts so far is right, although I totally understand the information you seek is elusive. I spent about a month looking at posts about IVA's starting with my mortgage is... From what I've been able to gather the issues are as follows. A lot of estate agents these days charge (IMO) extortionate a...

I've got a lot of thinking to do, I'm having to move house too aswell as chasing up this pay rise at work so its all happening. I move hopefully 19th Feb, and Payplan have just confirmed they've recieved the first payment from the debt management plan and have sent offers to the companies. Personall...

Thanks you so much for your attention in this matter, I will certainly speak to a firm, three seems to be the suggested number. With the pay rise I was just thinking I might have to declare if I expect my circumstances to change. If all debts are in my name would I have to include my partners income...

I'm not trying to falsely inflate the figures. I honestly believe my circumstances will be a little better in a month or twos time and therefore I could afford an IVA. AT the moment I don't think I could. I know I could continue with a DMP if an IVA was rejected but I still don't know the answer - c...

"If Payplan are prepared to do an IVA for you with a monthly payment of £125, and you have been comfortable with the service received, I would go for it. Worse case - creditors might turn it down - in which case you can go back to the DMP at no additional cost." If this occurs would it be permitted ...

Do they need to see utility bills and a tenancy agreement to prove address? I'm moving shortly, not through choice, so I figure I'm best off waiting until I've moved before setting anything new up. I might speak to some people on here, cos the constant phone calls are really bugging me :( What happe...

Payplan did go through all the options but I am not entirely comfortable with thier advice. I might try CCCS to see if they give similar advice. Basically the the advisor was pushing the IVA even though they worked out my surplus income to be just £126. All the info I have found on IVA's suggests yo...

I have been reading on this site and others about IVA's but can't seem to find anyone in the same situation as me and thus can't find the info I need. Firstly I need to know is an IVA only an option for home owners? Nobody seems to have this info. Secondly when they state an IVA usually lasts five y...
