looks as though the 'thin veneer' of freindly marketing is pealing back from some companies revealing the underside!

Hi No my IVA failed because my circumstances dramatically changed and couldn't afford the payments. My issue with PP is the quality, competence and objectiveness of their 'help' In hindsight I would never have gone with the IVA! They spent money hooking you in, then once signed up let you dangle. Ha...

My case officer went through the car insurance pitch at the 'meet your case officer phone call'(which I had to initiate!) - I said wasn't interested , full stop. Next day had an email from her saying how glad she was I was interested in a quote !! - emailed back saying again not interested, please s...

I was disapointed with the level and quality of service from Payplan. They seemed to shoehorn you into an IVA to gain their fee, even though it was not appropriate to my circumstances! They don't give advice - just stear you into an IVA. Once signed up their case officers attitude changed to indiffe...

So to clarify -

If your IP failed your IVA after one missed payment because they knew no more payments would be forthcoming - from that moment you would be open to creditors again - not waiting 3 months for missed payments?

Are you then immediately open to creditors again?

If your IP is informed that no more payments will be made into the IVA then they can fail it straight away! Does this still take three months? - or will you get creditors calling very soon after the immediate fail? This could affect a timetable for going bankrupt - avoiding the hounding. Regards Hugo

Jazz Ask to speak to your IP directly (name detailed on your correspondence) not your 'case officer' or their 'supervisor/teamleader'. Having read all about IP's and their duties etc on pamphlets supplied, I was initially (naively) under the impression that was the person I was dealing with/speaking...

I was just glancing at the wider issue. A more reasonable cut may actually raise the total creditor reciept and keep debtors motivated on the career ladder! I would accept promotion/payrise but think twice about excess/unsocial hours. If on a low wage doing overtime you would be realising about £3.2...

Demotivating isn't it! If the share was a little fairer maybe more people would accept overtime/shift work/higher paid positions benefiting themselves and creditors - win/win. My case officer advised me that if I returned to working unsocial hours my shift pay (not a small sum) would eventually be p...

Take a big step back and think hard on any modifications tabled.
If you are not happy at all - postpone.

I agree Melanie. I can only comment on my personal experiences. I have heard only good things about the smaller independants who rely on their good reputations. Explain all possibilities and solutions looking to their clients best interests. This unfortunately has not been my experience entirely. On...

There exists a fundamental conflict of interest in companies that gain all their revenue through IVA fees offering you free 'impartial advice' on debt solutons. What would a Pork Butcher recommend you have for tea? something someone else is selling up the road!! No he would recommend pork even if yo...
