Hi Justin Unfortunately there is no one answer to your question as the best solution will be based on your whole circumstances, such as your income and expenditure, assets etc. There are companies that will be able to go through this with you and make sure you have all the options explained in full....

Hi Dean,

In order for your IVA to be approved 75% of the creditors’ who vote need to accept (it is 75% of the debt value not the number of creditors). Have you been advised the reason for the rejection as it is possible negotiate with them.

hope this helps

I'll stay out of the moral / legal debate as I don't feel it adds anything to the OP's question. What I would say to Gail is that clearly there were reasons she chose an IVA over bankruptcy in the first place, so presumably those reasons still hold true. Assuming they do then I would be very wary of...

Pleased to hear you had no concerns with the pack we sent Mumofthree.

Did you initial speak with a gentleman called Robin when you called?

I'll make sure we give you a call as soon your paperwork arrives in to ensure the swap from your current company to us goes as smoothly as possible.

Hi Kallis, Thanks for getting back to me. Certainly interesting because normally Hamilton Locke (based on their current terms aleast) do take the first two months payments as a setup fee and then 17.5% each month as a management fee. Scary to think but if someone in your situation was charged that i...

Hi Kallis,

So circa 17.4% which is pretty common amongst DMP companies, but does feel a lot when you stop and think about it.

Did you also pay 2 months contribution as a set up fee, and was it capped each month or the full £650?

Hi mumofthree, I only just noticed your posts because, as Lesly_ mentioned, we don’t spend too much time on here at the moment. I’m not familiar with your particular case, but hopefully we managed to answer all your questions and put your mind at ease when you spoke to us the other day. You mention ...

Hi Maria

A secured loan is treated the same as a mortgage as far as the IVA is concerned

You will have to keep making the payments on the secured loan, which will obviously reduce your disposable income, but it will also reduce the equity that creditors would be able to claim (if any)

Hi Jon,

Just adding to what Michael has said, you may want to have a look at http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx which will tell you what benefits you are entitled to.

Hope you find a solution with your IP

Hi Anita It might be an idea to ask your former supervisor to write to them (or to you) specifically confirming that this creditor was included in the debt) If they have not received any dividends it could be that the supervisor wrote to them but did not receive a reply and they were then excluded f...

Hi pwsands, I agree with Andy Davie above, most definitely seems harsh. I have attached a link below that will allow you to check that you are claiming all the benefits you are entitled to as what you stated you are receiving seems quite low. Thought it may be worth a look. Take Care http://www.turn...

Hi 666,

A defualt notice is something your creditors has to send to you when you have defualted on the account, they will then report this to the credit agences (they ussually up date every 28 days but may be longer in some case) this should then show as a defualt on your credit file.
