Hi Dips While I was in my IVA my company withdrew our company credit cards and I was able to get a card from Vanquis with my supervisors permission and once every 3 months I had to email a scanned copies of my credit card statements to show it was paid off in full every month. So maybe you could ask...

I've seen an article this morning about older student loans and how the SLC are going to start reporting defaults on credit files on loans pre 1998. My question is I completed my IVA recently so will SLC still be able to register a default now against me and mess my credit file up for a further 6 ye...

I was with payplan for the 5 years of my IVA and they have been great. My partner was also in a DMP with them and they were always prompt in replying to any queries and helpful throughout and ensured that he didn't have to deal with any creditors himself.

Well as an avid reader of the forum and a very occasional poster I just thought I'd post to say that my IVA is finally over. I did the full 5 years and had confirmation today that my final payment has been received and that now things were being finalised and I would receive my completion certificat...

This 30% homebuy scheme has been around in the East Midlands for some time, well over 2 years, and it is only for people who have a clean credit record apparently. So ex IVAers may struggle to be able to get on to this scheme anyway, I know as I was hoping to do it when I finish mine in February but...

Hi Eddie

No it won't affect credit history on the property as their credit histories are personal and not tied to the property. I have an IVA and live in rented accomodation and none of my landlords have ever had any problems. It didn't even affect my partners credit file who lived with me.

Hi gracey, I need a reliable car for work and as mine was 5 years old this year and desperately in need of repair (I travel 126 miles a day round trip for work) I spoke to my IVA company and they allowed me to pay a monthly amount to my brother if he bought a car on finance but they wouldn't allow m...

Hi Yellowrose After 3 years in my IVA I had to move rented property and I was upfront with the agent and told them about my IVA and that I would probably fail the credit check. The landlord was fine with this because we had good references from our last rental. However the letting agents put the cre...

Have you tried Alliance & Leicester? I opened an account with them about a year ago whilst in an IVA. I applied for a current account online and they gave me an account with cheque book and electron card card and I can bank online. After 6 months they upgraded my card to a visa debit with no cheque ...
