Hi, I have more than one account and find it helps me manage money. My accounts are with the same bank and I haven't had to provide details to IP. You can open a bank account with anyone you like and as far as I know banks do not reject you for having an IVA. So long as you only apply for a basic ac...

Hi Louise by sounds of it my situation was quite similar to yours, I know it does seem scary at the moment but you are doing the right thing to get advice! I had equity in my house too and similar debt levels but did not have to sell my house as part of IVA. As you have your daughter living with you...

Thank you for your replies. I agree, it is horrible having redundacy over you I know. I did think it seemed strange that they could keep the money and make me seem more - no point in making an offer! Thanks Andy I have written to them explaining and that was the advice I was given from them, but I w...

Thanks for your responses. I was not given any advice on the options available to me and was told to go into an IVA. This is of course my fault for not looking into things fully but I panicked. The debts were joint with my ex but because I had better credit rating I obtained the vast majority in my ...

Hi Andy Thanks for your advice. My current IVA is with simple debt solutions. I spoke to the national debt line tonight and they said i would have been perhaps better to have done an iva because of the equity but that its too late. Im at a loss what to do now but think i will speak to the CAB and ex...

Hi debtattack. One of my loans within my IVA is with northern rock and is in joint names with my ex partner. They have said he will need to pay the monthly payments whilst i am in the iva. However, I never realised that they would try to make him pay it all off once my IVA has finished? So does anyo...

Im not struggling with the payments as such I just think I could have been advised better. A DMP seems like it would have been a better option but ...
