Thanks Andy, So far I have called 3 companies and they were all very helpful. After speaking with my husband he wanted to see if we had any other options, so we looked into remortgage and with advise from the forum plus a house valuation too we discovered that wasn't a possibility. My husband is thi...

Thanks Kezza
Can I ask, were you paying token payments during those 3 months or paying them nothing because the money was going to your IP ready for the IVA?

Hi again! Can anyone tell me around how long it would take for a company to send bailiffs round from the first missed payment? We are up to date so far with our payments, but we are seriously considering entering ito an IVA because we are having to use credit for day to day living expenses as all ou...

I agree, I looked into it, but I don't buy online and I think a debit card for food shopping is ok for me and a seperate account for car and house maintenance.[:)]

Hi Melanie, At last, a question that I can answer to help out!! The idea of the card is to top the card up with your available cash - for example, food shopping money. The maximum and minimum amount they let you pay onto the card varies for each company. You can then use the card like you would a cr...

Hi everyone! I've read alot of posts that say when changing accounts when in an IVA, the NAT West have refused people, saying that they are bankrupt. Nat West is the only bank in my town apart from the one that I owe money too. I have not started an IVA yet, but I want to change my account before I ...

How likely are creditors to call the workplace? My husband and I both work at the same place, and if they called as many times a day as what I've read some people at home have had, we'd probably be sacked! If I wrote to the creditors and asked them not to call work would they honour that? Or should ...

I have just found out that you can go on the insolvency website and get details of anyone who is in an IVA and their address and date of birth! I thought that an IVA was confidential? This really worries me because my work could find out and this would be frowned upon. Is there anyway an IVA could b...

Our mortgage is with Northern Rock and at the same time as remortaging a few years ago we had a secured loan with the Co Op bank. I'm not sure if this is the Together package that I have seen mentioned in the forum before. We also have a large credit card bill with Northern Rock. If we went ahead in...

Thank you so much for your replies. I feel so much better knowing that there are people who I can talk to here. I will keep you updated on our progress. I will call 3 companies including Thomas Charles. Are there any I should stay away from? I've seen in other posts that Synergie are bad. Also, I ha...
