Hello! I am in an IVA, and on the verge of my second I&E. During the course of my first year, I became eligible for the old age pension, turning 65. I have opted not to draw it until I absolutely have to, as I am still working. Questions:- (1)What will be my IP's attitude towards this decision? (2) ...

Ok, Broke of London - I am with Re10. I do not know if they use the 55/45 formula or not. Never thought of checking, as I assumed it was universal.

I thought the formula was 10% and 55/45 in the debtor's favour. Perhaps they vary from one iva to another?

Agree with Leslie. Give one or two companies a ring. Visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews. Thank you, Lesly and Kallis, for your encouragement and advice. The thing about the advice, which I often read in this forum, is that my game plan has always been to complete the CCCS assessm...

"What a bunch of losers!" I used to think over the last few years, as I vegged out in front of daytime TV and watched all those commercials about insolvency advice and assistance. Then one day, not so long ago, I realised that I myself was absolutely disoriented in thick fog on the cliff-tops! So on...

If your credit file is currently fine you should open a new account immediately if you have debts to your current bank. You would then be able to get more facilities including a cheque book but do not request an overdraft. I have successfully set up a 'neutral' bank account, but gave in to a bit of...

The company will write the balance off against profit unless it is insured. All bank's build in bad debt provisions into their trading accounts, and thus expect that a certain number of accounts will not perform over the years. This is treated as an expense against profit. So I can stop feeling gui...

I am in the first stages of preparing an iva application, and currently setting up a 'safe' bank account -- ie, one where such assets as it may contain will be immune from 'setting off', thereby allowing me to breathe before and during IP negotiations. Is it possible, I wonder, to quote a figure as ...

Thank you all very much for your prompt, kind and useful replies. I am afraid that I framed my question without putting my brain fully into gear - late at night, after a day of running around taking brochures from high-street banks. While glad to hear no problem with Santander, my real worry in the ...

If I take out a thinkbanking account, can I be absolutely certain there would be no danger of "setting off" by Santander? (I owe a tidy sum on my Capital One card.)
