Thank you Mel and NTF, think they are just trying it on to be honest but this kind of thing does scare the bejeezes out of you when it happens out of the blue and you know that what they are saying is completely wrong, I was in the mind to report them to be honest Mel as after checking online for th...

Thanks John and GilliB, thank you for your comments, I know this company are talking utter trash to be honest but when you get a call like that it makes you doubt yourself even though you know what you are saying is true,I know I do not owe them money and and I am darn well not going to be intimidat...

Thanks Foggy, I did question him on this as I had never heard of them and asked if they had taken over any companies, one may have been the one I spoke to but cannot be sure, something seems a lot fishy though, he did not even know who Santander were??.
Wish I had never heard of PPI to be honest.

Hello all, just asking if anyone has out of the blue had a phonecall from a company called Lawton Hathaway? apparently a PPI/debt claims company whom I have never heard of. To cut a long story short long before seeking help on the IVA journey I was cold called by a company re: PPI claims for which I...

Must echo that it is probably best to send via email so as you have proof you have sent them (a read receipt might be an idea) Sent mine to the same company earlier in the year with everything else they needed and got a letter a month or so later saying I had not sent them and would be in breach if ...

Bradders, very insightful post there and everything you say is bang on the button, but as with everyone else (in the main) on here, the IVA is the best thing I could have done in the circumstances and sure beat the alternatives. Am sure that the proposal will work out fine for you Jojocox and good l...

Thanks for the giggle OT, much needed. TBH if my numbers came up on the lottery (never going to happen, but you have to dream) first thing I would do would be to get the IVA out of the way, then sell up and buy a house in New Zealand or Canada.

Thank you for your responses, I cannot see anywhere in the forms where it states you can tick a box where it states you were not mis-sold, to top it off I received a call on my mobile (at work) from EIF about the forms which were only received at the end of last week, must say I am absolutely fuming...

I have had PPI in the past but I do not believe it was mis-sold. To be fair the IVA company are not insisting on filing a claim but encouraging a claim so to speak. I may just email IVA company and ask for no further action against these as they would be false claims of mis-selling(EIF must be makin...

I know there has been a lot posted on this topic this last few months or so, but I am 2+ yrs into an IVA and have received PPI claims pack (via a claims company via my IVA company), is it mandatory to file these foms? I was never forced to apply for this insurance so feel it is a bit of a cheek to a...

Hi Michael and Andie, I am fine with it now thank you, have already heard back from a helpful lady and gotten clarification on things, it will not be an extra 6 months payments and been told it will not take the 6 months to clear things up (I, in error, took it to mean this), I have never ever spoke...

Hi Mel, I think it is just the way the variation came out to be honest, I think it was the creditors asking for this rather than my company (McCD). I did ask the question about how long it would take to get the completion certificate and was told it would be processed as soon as possible and be rece...

Thanks Mel, I sort of know why now the extension is seen to be necessary, the fact I live with brother and sister and the house is still in Mam's name seems to mean that it is classed as a windfall, although I would have thought otherwise as it is our home and has always been. I have spoken to IVA c...

Thanks BOL, well I do not really need a date to remember her by to be honest, but will be taking some of her favourite flowers to the chapel of remembrance (some of her roses out of the front garden as well) I think that the inheritance is what it is, but as it is our home it is not really an inheri...
