Thanks all. Just think it's important to post that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I know how worried/nervous/scared we were when we set off on this journey.
Have learned so much and feel like this is a fresh start - don't intend to waste it.

So, after six long years we have now completed our IVA and have the certificate to prove it. Been a long hard lesson but we lived to tell the tale - and it feels wonderful! Good luck to all those starting out and thank you to this forum for being there when we needed help, advice and encouragement. ...

Surely this is on the understanding that your mortgage lender will give you extra funds? We have just been through the same thing, as expected, and our mortgage lender wouldn't give us extra funds so our option was to find £36,000 from a third party or pay a further 12 months payments. We went with ...

So, here we are three years down the road and just awaiting the results of our annual review. For me this doesn't get any easier and I still hold my breath (so to speak) until we get the confirmation fo the review. This year has been a tough one, don't know if it's because we haven't had a holiday f...

My husband and I are 30 months into our IVA and getting through it by the skin of our teeth. It is fair to say that this IVA is the only thing keeping us together. I have somewhere to go but can't because all of our money has to go into our household bills and IVA payments. So I am just wondering if...

Hello We have just completed out 2nd review. Received a letter today (23) which was dated 07 August, telling us that our payment will rise by £65 from September 1st. Whilst I have no problem with the increase, I do have a problem with the fact that it is expected in a weeks time. I have just booked ...

Sorry if this is a daft question, but here goes anyway. We are still paying a mortgage and various other stuff on a monthly contract (mobiles, car insurance, car breakdown etc), does this not help with you credit score?

Have just submitted our expenses form for our 2nd annual review. Nervous as ever, the only thing worrying me is that I got a 'substantial' payrise in April. I notified our IP at the time and was told that as it didn't exceed our maximum limits we wouldn't need to increase our monthly payments. Does ...

Well done to you on reaching your final payment date. Have to say though, the very last thing I will be looking to sign up to as and when our IVA is complete is a credit card. Completely banned in my house from the date of our IVA acceptance. Each to their own I suppose.
