Didn't realise I could claim PPI, guess now they have agreed the fand f I could access funds and not have to declare them as windfall. Best to claim independently or through one of the millions of firms that offer to do it for me? font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">quote:<hr height="1" n...

congrats Liz. I sent off my third annual review paperwork at the end of July and Oct 2013 sees me finished - all being well. You're also right it's not a piece of cake. My repayments will amount to nearly 100k by the finish - I wish I'd realised how little I could live on before getting into such po...

I've seen a few posts from people who are being made to pay additional months payments for one reason or another. I'm just over half way (or so I thought) and the next 28 months will be tough - not least as I might be made redundant and yet that will be regarded as a windfall rather than what it wil...

Thanks - no property owned any longer - that was part of my problem I had a loan against it with First Plus. When the house got sold there was a shortfall and added to all the other credit cards etc I owed loadsa dosh - so my monthly repayment is 1625. That's why I dont wanna screw up on this - havi...

I don't think I have an equity release clause - not even sure I know what one is! Am pretty confident I don't have a six year IVA though with my job looking increasingly vulnerable I might end up having some kind of restructure - if I'm made redundant and they want the money as a windfall - I'm not ...

I am approaching the end of my third year and have two questions. Firstly I notice some people on here seem to have a 6 year agreement - why is that and am I right thinking mine is standard at 5 years (plus the final year when it stays on my credit record) Secondly is there a review conducted at the...

I'm halfway thru my IVA this month. Egg and Natwest were two of my creditors. Natwest were fine. Egg was a little more tough but agreed to my plan with only a tiny additional ask. Once the meeting is over the relief is immense... suddenly your life is your own again. 5 yrs feels like a long time but...

Be wary about bonus payments. I'm with GT. I get an annual bonus whichhas been 3% of annual salary each year. If the bonus was paid monthly or was overtime)it would be 3% and would fit fine withing the 10% threshold. Cos I get it paid annually in May it boosts one monthly salary and I end up losing ...

I've been with GT for over 2 years now and have found them fantastic. However this thread has made me a bit anxious about how easily things can go wrong and how important it is to maintain records of communications - something I'm not great at. I'd be distraught if after 4 years payments things look...

thanks to you both. I'm at month 27 of my IVA but am applying for a new job which would probably need a move of home. Currently I rent privately in London, have been here 2 years and never had any problem paying the 925 a month rent to my landlady.

how will being in an IVA affect my ability to enter into a tenancy agreement? Am I blighted from using estate agents and limited to accessing private landlords who don't use credit reference checks???

Thanks to you too . It's reassuring to know it's not all doom and gloom! I'm also reassured because my IP at Grant Thornton has been fantastic throughout the process - I just wish I'd faced up to the reality 12 months earlier instead of trying to manage alone and making matters worse. Might have avo...
