We paid a lot less each month once in an IVA than we did trying to pay all of our creditors, so the fees the IP were paid were a fair amount.
Once in an IVA the worries were gone and we knew we only had 5 years till we were debt free, what price can you put on that.

Dancer I'm with you. When my son left uni he had a hell of a time finding a job. It took him almost 12 months before he got something. It wasn't through lack of trying but mainly due to the old thing of not having enough experience. He eventually, with the help of granny, bought himself a van and we...

Halifax not all they are cracked up to be. We were with Nat West before IVA but as they were one of our creditors we had to switch so we chose Halifax. Over the 6 years we have been with them we have had our bank account hacked twice and both times we were treated as if we were telling lies and had ...

My Hubby inherited while in the last few months of our IVA. We thought we would not tell any one but the guilt was so bad we didn't sleep so we told our IP. The out come was they worked hard for us to keep as much as we could while satisfying our creditors. At least we were able to sleep again knowi...

I was with another company and I started ringing weekly to get a report on where my completion cert was. Eventually 10 months after our F&F the cert arrived. Just ring all the time and make them realise you aren't going away until you get the certificate.

We were removed almost the day we got our completion certificate through the post.
I checked that night and low and behold we weren't there any more. Great feeling and made the end of our IVA seem real at last. Now trying to get the credit ref up to date.

We did a F&F last September and received our completion cert this week. I phoned every week and I think in the end I wore them down. Also I contacted the insolvency register and they contacted our IVA company and hey presto the certificate was here.

When asked what we would like for Christmas and birthdays we always asked for vouchers to go out for a meal. Most pubs will give gift vouchers and it is great to think you can have a nice free evening out once in a while.

Did a F&F in September last year and have be on the phone regularly but we still don't have our completion cert. Told it was due to PIP but I reminded them that I had signed a variation before we did the F&F. Now apparently it has been flagged up as priority but apparently we are due our yearly stat...

My contract states that the IP could take up to an additional 3 months from the end of the IVA to finalise administration(or words to that affect). We are now 9 months after a F&F and still no completion cert.

It was our choice as we were so embarrassed about our situation. When we went for an IVA we were so pleased at the way we were dealt with. The guy we spoke with was not judgemental at all. The only problem we have with VN is the time it is taking to get our completion cert to us.

We were in a DMP for a year before the IVA and what a waste of time that was. The interest still kept being added and at the end of the year we owed more than before we started.

My husbands boss closed the works pension sometime ago but the fact that it was a pension fund meant we couldn't take the cash but had to put it in another pension. I would check that you can take the cash before you decide what you would do with it as you may have to leave it in a pension fund.
