Hi nittykitty If you don't have the documentation from tax credits you can ask them for a copy. It might be worthwhile asking them to send you copy of your award notice for the year following the overpayment. This would then show if you paid back the £249 in full through reduced tax credits that year.

Hi Jmartin - welcome from me too. I agree with ginger you should avoid payday loans. You would probably be accepted for a Vanquis credit card, which you can clear each month to build you credit file. As for obtaining a loan, I'm not sure. Agree with Foggy that the default and associated account with...

I agree with Foggy, you could contact Melanie's team. I found them brilliant to work with. I had some disposable income too, but my offer of a full and final was more than what would have been paid in over the five years, so I think that's why mine was accepted. Compare your lump sum with 60 or 72 p...

Hi carrie I can recommend Melanie's team. They were very helpful and I received my certificate of due completion in April this year. I had been trying to deal with my creditors directly, like you are now, but things became a lot easier once Melanie's team began dealing with my creditors. I highly re...

Thanks for the info. Ginger3232.
I haven't paid in full, (IVA was 22p in the £) so it look like I will just have to wait for it to fall off after the 6 years are up.
Thanks for all the info.

Thanks ginger 3232 for your reply. I understand that it must remain on the credit report for 6 years, so I don't want it removed, but would just like the record updated to reflect the fact that it's now satisfied under the completed IVA. I have the documents you mentioned to hand, so I will write to...

Hi, My IVA completed in April. On my credit report the accounts read "satisfied" and have a zero balance. However, in the public information section of the report a CCJ is still showing with a balance of over £11k outstanding. The name beside it read, "Civil Processing Centre, Royal Court of Justice...

I had a debt of around £3,000 that was not included in my original IVA proposal, as it was for a hire agreement where I returned the goods a year previously and had been up to date when I did this. However, two months into my IVA I received the a letter from the company that I thought I would have n...

Hi Beckie01 My wife and I did a full and final IVA last year with Melanie's team. Our debt was around £75,000 and we paid a lump sum of £22,000. My parents lent us the money and we are still paying them back, but our IVA finished in April when we received our certificates. The figure was arrived at ...

Just a quick update - our names are now off the insolvency register. My major creditor was Bank of Ireland and all three accounts with them are showing as settled on the Equifax credit report. The ones still showing a default are Northern Rock, Nationwide and MBNA. The defaults are dates from before...

Hi djw You have chosen an excellent IP. Melanie was our IP too. We also had Nationwide as a creditor. Before the IVA was set up they did go through their collections procedure, but were never nasty or anything. In fact they were quite helpful. And they also voted in favour of our IVA Melanie will be...
