Forgot to say had my new card cloned within 10 weeks of opening new account. Luckily YB were sharp enough to pick up on it straight away and suspend the account, which i was thankful for. Similar circumstances with HBOS left me down 300 a few years ago.

I had the same thing when I opened a Yorkshire Bank current account, in the end I told them about the IVA pending and they still wanted to give me the full account but took away the OD facility for the duration.

What are you paying your IP with then! Fond wishes, hugs and kisses. None of us would do whatever we do without getting paid , so we are all in it for the money! And rightly so, we all deserve skill related pay. I don't want to fall out with the community I think the iva.co.uk one is great and does ...

I wasn't absolving anyone of not meeting the contractual agreements with their creditors or the morality of borrowing beyond someones means or being cynical, just objective to the original point! I am extremely thankful that there is a mechanism so that I can manage my debts and see some light at th...

Firstly leakyBrain your post that I quoted didn't state or even insinuate that you had not entered into an arrangement just that you had selected an IP at some point in time, so I apologise, you would only have to pay your creditors back in the event of a lottery win. Skippy, I was making a point ab...

Ditto Jan. I found the forum through another user and she was the one that recommended someone to me, however, she did also say there are a few others if you want to ring a few. We have CHOSEN to go with Melanie Giles team and at no time has she ever solicited our business. The fact that these peop...

I am in the position of having been in a DMP for 18 months then a IVA for 2 years and now bankruptcy. It does depend on your situation but I am still to see ANY advantages in using a DMP. Interest is rarely frozen and you will spend decades paying off your creditors most probably. Granted it does f...

I was told to make token payments and then in the letter giving my creditor meeting date NOT to make token payments, UH! Both bits of advice were given in the space of one pay packet. I had already made token payments to the value of my proposal monthly payment by then. I wish I had kept if I am tru...

Hi DMB, I had my meeting a month before yours and BarclayCard are one of two creditors who still rang me and they voted in favour. Problem is that if they are using an automatic dial system and your work number is one of the numbers in the system they will continue until their system updates. Tell y...

Mine was 39p at proposal level and after the creditors had limited certain fees and submitted balances that were less than some on the proposal it went up to an estimated 43p. Its all subjective to your own circumstance. If you can only truly afford to repay a certain dividend then that's all you ca...

Hi Stevo, I had both HBOS and Lloyds debt and they were treated as seperate creditors. HBOS had around 45% of the debt and voted in favour, no phone calls off them for either CC OD or loan once they knew I was proposing an IVA and were great really. LLoyds never turned up to vote and still ring now ...

I had the same worries, living with parents, phone calls being made to the land line. In the end I just told my parents that I was in debt and was doing the sensible thing and FINALLY sorting it out. Really there was no way of hiding it once I'd stopped paying my payments and creditors alarm bells s...

Horrible day! I'm very sorry. Losing our canine friends is terrible but it's a small but hard price to pay for all the love, fun, companionship, entertainment and many other things we receive in return. You feed them. You walk them. You clean up their poo and you love them to bits and then they go a...

My experience with Yorkshire Bank was above my expectations. After deciding to go forth with the IVA process I went into a branch and asked if I could open a ReadyCash account. The young lady invited me into a separate room and asked who I was banking with and why I was wanting to move. At this poin...

Thanks Jan, Its what I thought and will speak to my IP, I should have asked many more questions after the approval. In my post approval telephone meeting I must have been asked over 5 times if I had any more questions. The relief of the yes vote had sent my rational senses on holiday for an hour or ...
