We completed our IVA in 2015 and things have been good since, until recently when we enquired about a re mortgage with our bank. Hi Luckycharm

We had numerous letters from Barclaycard and Mercers they just send them out automatically. It's easier when your IVA's approved you can just point them to the register and that's that!

MBNA - My rate went from 12.9 up to 34.9% on a 9k balance, they have a habit of withdrawing the facility and then hiking the rate. I struggled with this for over two years virtually all of my monthly payment was interest only a couple of pounds went to reduce the capital. If they had kept to the ori...

Hi Lem

I'm with Mel’s team and My IVA took just over 3 months to go through due my company accounts being finalised. I got one or two calls from creditors Barclaycard / Mercers and Halifax - I just explained the position and they were happy to hold calls for a couple of weeks at a time.

Churchwood Finance are a fee charging DMP Company, they offer IVA's and consolidation loans too. Have a look at IVA.com and have a chat with a couple of companies before making any commitments.

Hi Quark

Sorry to hear about your situation I hope things work out well for you!

This may have been mentioned before but could you set a silent ringtone on your phone/s for the telephone numbers you don't want to receive?!

Mrs Squidy - found a lovely dress at Tesco for my daughter’s school prom, going to make a few alterations and add some fancy bits to glam it up and should be good to go!
Get Tesco points as well - we save them up for Christmas!

Hi I have just recently changed from DMP to IVA It's early days for me but on balance if you can't pay back a DMP in under 5 years then an IVA could be a great option. Interest and charges stop in a IVA and your property is protected. The IVA could protect you from any further legal action like CCJ'...

Welcome I was on a DMP before my IVA was accepted - I stopped payment to creditors when I asked the Iva Company to act for me. I put the money to one side just in case my IVA was rejected. In my situation I couldn't have two companies acting for me anyway. I sent my creditors a letter saying I had a...
