at the end of 60 payments and in your original agreement you have been asked to remortgage, what if you don't have enough equity in the property to remortgage but could possibly borrow a small sum from a family member to make a full and final settlement instead of paying for a further 12 months

Exactly! It has always been an issue. He does chase them constantly but thinks they are now just getting annoyed with his chasing and take even longer to pay the money back into our account. Last month we really struggled - we were thinking of asking for a payment breaks but are loathed to do that a...

Similar situation to us, until the IVA was set up we received numerous letters and constant phone calls in the end we didn't answer the phone at all, even getting calls at 8.30am in the moring up until 9pm and Sundays! The IVA was stressful but well worth it now the only post that drops onto our mat...

Unfortunately no he couldn't speak to them as it may put him in an awkward position as they are a finance company. This is the way that they operate, you pay up front and then claim it back.

Thanks for your reply

My husband works away from home 2 nights a week and has to pay for his hotels, meals, bridge tolls and the dreaded petrol bill which equates to about £275 - £300 each week. His employer is very slow at paying back his expenses, sometimes 3 weeks we are therefore struggling with trying to keep our he...

Thanks Broke of London. Hoping to get it done in the summer. Had a bad day today feeling like it's all getting to me, but then I have to stop and say to myself better to be in the position than the position I was in 2 years ago when I couldn't sleep at night, dreaded hearing the post drop on the mat...

Thanks Melanie sound advice. We may be able to borrow money from family but probably not without making a small payment each month, so if this isn't acceptable to IP then we will probably have to ask for 3 months payment holiday a new basic new boiler plus fitting quote of £1500!

We only have an allowance of £35 for meals at work between us which we feel is too low, but we now try and take lunch most days to cut down on costs. Also try shopping in Aldi or Lidl instead of Tesco or Asda, if you have a Home Bargains in your area they are brilliant for branded products and massi...
