Hi, this is in response to Lems post. You're right about the interest on any money owed on a credit card and an IVA at the very least gives you a time frame for closure on your debt. The only problem the debtor has with an IVA is staying in employment for the next five years, making regular payments...

That's exactly why I had to enter an IVA. I am still feeling the effects of debt even today. I just hope and pray I get the certificate soon that states that I have successfully completed the IVA. I'm currently completed the payments and in the IPs housekeeping phase. Thats all I am concerned about....

Hi Tamiami, I understand totally where your coming from I've been down that road before. I was paying £35.00 each on four credit cards a few years ago, then all of a sudden the higher interest rates were applied. I started to receive credit card demands for much higher payments. It went up to someth...

Foggy that is was my sentiments exactly. I did not want to sign up to an IVA it was my circumstances. I started mine in October 2006 and my last payment was August 30th this year. I have paid back 100% of my debt plus £600 by my calculations. A figure I am sure I will never see from my IP. My credit...

Hi, this is in reply to animaleyes76. At last someone on this forum who feels sympathetic to what happened to me. Its refreshing, everyone on this forum (it would seem) are blaming themselves and not looking at all the circumstances regarding their personal debt problems. Its true some people are ir...

To those that replied to my initial post. You are right I should have read carefully the full detail of my IVA. After seeing the magical figure of 45% of my debt to be written off I was under the false impression I would not be asked to pay more and after reaching this I would be debt free. Also I d...

Hi this is the reply to Pandy. I have had to use pay day loans I have not wanted to use pay day loans. There is a big difference. I have had to be extremely good at managing money until as I mentioned everything started to increase in price. Hope you took note of the fact that my salary over the las...

ginger 3232 I did read all of the documents put in front of me and it wasn't 60% of the debt, in my case it was 45% of the debt. I do feel upset with what happened but I did not want the IVA I paid into to fail. Something that may have happened if I collected on the PPI settlement claim from the ban...

I have never ever met a group of people who are more pro-banks and pro - IVA and who have effectively blamed themselves for the situation they have got themselves into. Try this one for size in the last four years I have had 2% pay increase. Thats in the last four years of work. The interest rates (...

Thanks, I got all the messages above. I contacted my bank and IP regarding the paying off of my debts and the PPI cheque and all are now aware of the payment and windfall due. I have struggled to pay everything. It has left me in a really bad financial position. It seems everything is stacked agains...

This reply is to lesley. When I entered my IVA and received the glossy brochures from my IP company, it stated clearly that I would only need to pay back 40% of my outstanding debts. It made no mention of 100%. The fees I did understand. I can see clearly that IVAs in general are for companies who w...

Hi, I have just completed my IVA. The last payment was taken on September 2nd. Recently (two weeks ago) I was contacted by my bank to say they were settling my PPI Claim and that they were going to award me £5,000. They also stated that being in an IVA they would send this to my IP. I think this is...

Hi, I am in my last five months of an IVA with Kingsgate Insolvency. I have asked time and again for an end date for my IVA to terminate. To date they have not supplied one. If Kingsgate try to extend my IVA past this year who can I complain to? I under companies like this want to make as much money...
