Thanks for the responses everyone. Yes Melanie, My ex wife also has an IVA - I've been advised that because the property is under a 12 month rental contract until July, there'll be no movement until after that. Went to see the solicitor this morning too, they suggest I may have to take it to the mag...

Hi Everyone, It's been a while and everything had been going very well until my now ex wife gave me notice in a text message that she was going to stop making contributions toward our still joint mortgage. She became pregnant out of wedlock after leaving and now "cannot afford" to make payments as t...

Following the separation from my wife, the IP has now drafted a proposal in order to severe our joint IVA for a remaining four years but I am concerned that it may not be acceptable to creditors as my dividend is rather low (around 10-20p). Variation Meeting is on 28th February. We own a home jointl...

Thanks Mel & Tina! Sadly my wife had no alternative but to take the job in Rugby as her temporary contract ends this month. I too am concerned about creating a "chain" so to speak - especially when we are in no real position to take risks like becoming a landlord. Luckily my wife has family who she ...

I am guessing but would they need to contact the IVA company for them to separate the joint IVA in to two single?
Then so long as you don't have or apply for any joint accounts with your partner, your credit rating will remain unaffected...

We have a bit of a conundrum and are looking for advice.... We live in Chester and my wife has found work in Rugby starting in September! I earn 27k in IT with a job locally and my wife will earn estimated £22-24k in her new teaching role. We currently have a mortgage (£575pm) plus a secured loan (£...

We're five months in to our IVA and all has run smoothly so far... We've been sticking to the budget and now know exactly how much we have left to spend which is great. Although in the back of my mind my wife is a teacher currently covering maternity. The school has already agreed to extend her cont...

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend... We had historically paid NRAM by Standing Order for our Together Mortgage payments and had learned from others on the forum that the payment often got split using some formula towards the unsecured element. Because of this and as we only now pay the secured amount...

Happy New Year.... We've been reviewing the position in regard to our VW which has about 60k on the clock and requires a full service (£250), a new radiator (£350), brake pads (£50), two rear tyres (£120).... It takes the 98 octane unleaded so is also increasingly costing a fortune (£1.39/L) Basical...

It's going to be the best Christmas in years as our IVA has been accepted at the Creditors Meeting this morning! Northern Rock requested the mod for 72 months but we are extremely happy with the outcome - now giving a 41p dividend. McCambridge Duffy did extremely well in the end as I understand they...
