Thanks Martin. Any advice then, apart from what's already been mentioned? I here horror stories that I m trying to mitigate as much as I can. I signed a PPI disclaimer about 8 months ago which I was hoping would speed things up, so PPI should nt be a problem

Martin, in your opinion, would a DSAR help with my problem at all?

Thanks Claire. My query revolves mainly around my frustration with not knowing what is going on with my closure. It feels as though I have no recourse. Do you think I need to go through DFD's complaints procedure and then Ombudsman it?

I am getting increasingly frustrated by DFD with regard to the release of information regarding my IVA closure. I made my last payment 6 months ago, but any time I enquire as to the status of my closure, I get fobbed off. Can I request this information under the Freedom Of Information act? Thanks in...

Thanks for that Matrix. My iva lasted 63 months. Just to be clear, is all the 'black data' wiped from my records after 6 years following the Creditors meeting, or one year after my last payment (because in my case that would be an extra 3 months if you see what I mean, because of 3 extra payments I ...

Thanks Paul, does this mean that I don't have to wait until the certificate of completion before I'm able to apply for credit?

Hi all. I am about to make my final payment of a 5 year, 3 month IVA. Friday is my last day and I can't wait. It's been a long hard slog, but I'm about to walk through that door into freedom. My question is three fold and all relate to what happens after I've made my last payment. 1. How long is it ...

Melanie,

How does one know if any PPI monies are classed as an asset and appropriate for inclusion in an IVA? Is it a specific clause in the agreement?

The unfortunate thing here is that all IP's (even the reputable ones Melanie!) are suffering horrendously as a result of this PPI shambles. I too have told my IP (DFD) that I was not mis-sold PPI and that I do not want to pursue any claims. I have put this in black and white terms and have asked if ...

Hi Melanie, But you ARE helping us!! It appears to me that this is almost like a bit of a mis-selling issue. At the time we accept IVA agreements we are in absolutely no position to challenge as we are under so much pressure and stress; it's not like we can afford a lawyer to go through the fine pri...

Hi Workingonit. I thought your IP had initially said that an extension was unlikely? Seems as though they have changed their tune. I agree that it's totally frustrating and counter intuative in some cases. This is where the experts could really help us with advice about how to take this legal loopho...
