If the car is genuinely required, and it is reasonable for purpose (e.g. you haven't got a £50k Porsche!), then it will probably be included in the IVA as a preferred creditor, i.e. you will be allowed to keep up your full payments to them. However when the finance finishes, you will pay that monthl...

My wife and I have applied for an interlocking IVA - basically 2 IVAs administered as one, they use the same Income and Expenditure details etc. It was essential for us as my wife wouldn't have had a viable case for an IVA on her own as her disposable income is very small.

The Ford CD6000 head unit are usually about £40 second hand on eBay. Its dead easy to swap with the little U-shaped tools, no skill required. I have the tools and will gladly post them to a forum member if they want to borrow them. They are small and light enough to be sent as a standard letter so o...

Broken springs are very commonplace now unfortunately. Please do not drive a car with a broken spring, not only is there a very serious risk of the tyre being punctured should the spring make its way loose, but the handling of the car will be changed drastically, especially in a high load situation ...

No problem at all, I love cars (they are a good part of the reason I'm in so much debt) and am always working on them for friends, family, neighbours, colleagues etc!

Lyns, What a nightmare you've been having! I'm fairly handy with cars, I knew from your first post what the problem was! Regardless, your garage seems very reasonably priced so at least you've been looked after and definitely not ripped off. I'm more than happy to help any forum member maintain thei...

If you go into one of the big Orange/Vodafone etc shops, they rarely do a credit search as they are too worried about getting their sales bonuses!!

Fees are usually a percentage of all realisations, plus the nominees fee, plus some unrecoverable VAT which I don't understand.

I've seen figures of between 15-20% of realisations, plus £1500-£2000 for nominees fee as the norm.

You need to speak to your IP to review your new income and expenditure, maybe a full and final settlement to accept "payments to date" could be put forward?

Good luck!

I think Ruth is referring to an incremental progression, rather than a cost of living increase Mel.

It sounds like a very specific clause was added in for whatever reason, it looks very black and white to me (unfortunately).

Worst case scenario just leave the monthly allowance as per your original income and expenditure. You will only normally need to justify things where you are asking for an increase in allowance.

If you only have 5 payments left, its probably simplest to just try and stick to the repayments if possible.

Many congratulations are in order too! [:)]

Melanie Giles is a regular poster on here and seems very popular with her clients. Pick up the phone and give a few companies a call, and get a feel for who you might get along well with.
