After 6 years I've been told my completion certificate in the post to me! Hurray!!! so I enquired as to who informs the appropriate agencies they said it's the creditors themselves is that right? Thanks pepes

Thanks for replies. I've done soft search and found I could have one with limit of £250 I think but don't want to actually apply if it will somehow endanger my chances of finalising and completing. My car needs new brake pads and new tyres

This is really great to hear! My iva was due to finish next June but think it'll be extended for another yr. I can't wait til it finishes! And I'll be straight on the phone to Ryan then with regards a mortgage!

No idea why question had me down as new user. So anyway if there is no 5k in the property will my iva just be automatically be extended to another year then? Thanks for yr help

That is the standard scenario, yes. If the equity comes in at less than £5k there will be no extension or attempt to release and the property will be ignored.

I've now done my first year on IVA, I know I'll get there but 5yrs at the mo seems a long time away....I'm in a little one bed shared-ownership house, so I have mortgage on 50% of the house and pay housing association rent for the other 50%, I know I cant move houses or remortgage for the next 5 yrs...

oh lesley sorry to hear. is it me or it the weather bringing us all down a bit? its the 2nd of august and its grey and raining - perhaps if it was sunny things would seem better for us all? lol.

Doubt I have any equity in the house and I'd need money to pay solicitors fees and things if I sold the house - which I haven't got - and I'd need deposit for rental place surely? - which I haven't got - and would I be able to rent - as they'd do credit checks and stuff wouldnt they?

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! well done you! I've got 5 years to go yet :0( but just pleased I managed to keep a roof over my head.
