Hi Kallis
Bankruptcy isn't an option as my husband is an Accountant and his membership group won't allow bankruptcy and he will be barred from practicing if we declare bankruptcy.
On the contrary though, I feel DFD's payment very reasonable.

Hi Kallis, Hi Ginger No, we privately rent. The electricty bill is there blasted stupid 'estimated' direct debit amount. They say we use £1000 a year in electricity, which we don't! They bill me every 6 months and they say that I use £80-£90 a month. They make me pay £119 a month so most of it ends ...

Hi UPDATE DFD phoned me today. We have decided to sit down tonight, me and my husband, and discuss the IVA proposal which DFD say is £193 a month as repayment towards our creditors on a £12k collection of debt. One of the debts we have, the big one I told you about which started this thread, the deb...

Hi Ginger Thanks! DFD were very good before. I will always be grateful that our IP failed our IVA and didn't make us bankrupt. They have said they will call next week. I am so upset. I have discussed this with my husband tonight and he said that he will support any decision I make on our behalf. The...

Hi Herbekj Don't be silly. You didn't upset me really. You just confirmed what I already knew! It's my own fault for getting into debt in the first place. Tonight I made contact with DFD and they have offered to help me again. I am to gather all the info over the weekend and they can see what they c...

Hi Plasticdaft DFD did send letters out to the creditors in question advising them the IVA had failed but I was informed by someone at another Debt Management Company that the debt was Statute Barred from the date of default and even though the debt was in the IVA as it wasn't paid on then it's not ...

Hi Pandy It's Debt Free Direct. I was told by the IP after he failed the IVA that no monies had been paid to our creditors as the £5000 in the pot was to pay his fees. Hi Ginger Thank you for replying, I am very grateful but your comments don't answer question. I am aware of the rules surrounding St...

Hi If you have a failed IVA, which failed in June 2008 after approx 2 years, without bankruptcy consequences, and no monies paid to any of the Creditors during the IVA as any monies paid went straight to the IP for his fees, do any debts from that IVA become Statute Barred? We have a debt from 2003/...

Hi *sigh*. I never thought I would say this but my husband and I are reconsidering entering into an IVA. We owe about £36k. We had an IVA with Debt Free Direct and they were bl**dy awful. We voluntarily failed our IVA in June 2008 as I am pregnant (due in December) and unemployed and we couldn't aff...

Hi My IVA failed in June, without bankruptcy, instead our IP referred our debts back to the creditors. In which case, I have two questions. 1. During the IVA several creditors decided not to participate in the IVA. They just disappeared! Can they come calling now or would they? 2. I obtained a copy ...
