Thank you all very much, for the voucher and for your kind wishes and thoughts. I actually don't know what to say because words are not enough. Ironic really as I am not often short of words :). However I will say that I think the support this forum provides for people with serious money issues but ...

I think Anna you need to be honest, it is always the best policy. Any deceit could put your IVA at risk because people may then wonder what else you have been economic with the truth about. He is your partner, he wants you to sign a tenancy agreement. Tell the IVA company exactly that and that he wo...

You should speak to your company directly, always keep them informed of any change in circumstances so that they can offer best advice. Why do you say you were ripped off?

Can't agree with you Terry, we spoke to a few companies and they all recommended bankruptcy for us. However we wanted to pay back as much as we could - therein lies the crux, we made the choice. This Forum is a support for many people who are struggling with debt, are in an IVA, thinking about being...

Just a quick update. I am still waiting to hear, sent off all the paperwork, permissions for background check, contract etc last week. Was determined not to email but have done so today to just check that they received everything. No reply as yet. I just wanted to say that I have kept our IP involve...

Hi, please try not to worry we were called constantly by our creditors. Sometimes the call centre's who ring deny knowledge that you are applying for an IVA, sometimes I suspect because they don't know, others because they perhaps receive commission payments based on how much revenue they manage to ...

Hi and thank you for your comments. The Company has simply responded to my email by requesting that I sign the Background Permission Form and to return it so they can carry out the necessary searches - they remain non-commital. They have asked for clarification of my start date so I have handed my n...

Well....the offer arrived today and confirmed that they do a full background check including criminal records etc. I am not a criminal but they also do a financial check. I've just emailed to say that we are in an IVA, the circumstances around it and await their response. I hope that they will say t...

Thank you for your comments and advice. I am still worried! Will see what tomorrow brings. I think that what is unfair is that potentially people can be working for a company who did not have an IVA when they joined but do now. Therefore how are they any different from new people who have applied fo...

Hi BOL I love it too! I guess that my stress levels are simply heightened by the fact that I believe my current job will end because the company is in such a poor financial state. If the new job asks then I will of course declare it - I have nothing to be ashamed of, people are in debt for any number...

It doesn't say anything in the spec/job description but wonder if it will be in the actual contract. Many employers seem to use credit checks/insolvency as proof of a persons character. It seems crazy as there may already be people working within a company who didn't have arrangements when they join...
