The lovely Amanda has just sent me a new I&E form and then if there's anything left at all, it's for the creditors to agree on reduced payments.
Nerves have settled now. I think it's fear of the unknown - I was more nervous waiting for that call than I was before my wedding!!!

Thanks luluj, I phoned them today, they said about 7 days from the final date of claim which could possibly mean a delay in my first pay packet as it's weekly. Hopefully it will turn up before Friday though.

Yes it's so much easier when you're already in a job and looking for something else. I was applying for anything I thought I could do other than my usual occupation. Cleaning, admin, basic accounts - anything to bring in some money. People don't like giving feedback either so I've no idea what else ...

I've only lurked on these boards in recent months, as I've been trying to concentrate on looking for a job - kind of wanted to put the IVA to the back of my mind so I didn't start to panic about everything! We started our IVA in August and I was made redundant at the end of September. McCambridge Du...

Hi, just looking into options if I'm not able to secure a permanent job in the next 2 - 3 months. Self-employment isn't always the most reliable way of earning a living but I figured that some kind of income would be better than nothing if it came to that! HMRC are one of my creditors (the smallest,...

Our variation meeting was fine, all accepted, so we're now on a 6 month payment break. Got a bit stressed the morning of the meeting and was so glad when the call was over. Now I have to wait for the redundancy monies to come through, which is taking what feels like an eternity. My parents have been...

I think I'll just phone at the allocated time - they emailed me with some stuff about an hour before the scheduled meeting last time, I had to decide what to agree to, and then we went through the whole recorded meeting thing. Don't think I could sit there waiting for them to call me!!!

Are variation meetings dealt with in the same way as the original Creditor's Meeting? Have mine on the 27th but I'll be at my parents' house that week, have my mobile with me and access to the internet so if like before I needed to look at some stuff on email then that's ok, I just don't know what t...

I'll have to do my homework, need to sort out this job stuff first though. Thanks for your help - we're up near Manchester so not sure who supplies around our way although I do remember we used to get N-Power(?) doing doorstep visits quite a lot.

Got a letter today about them being notified of us entering an IVA so they have closed/opened accounts, but the letter is worded so badly it suggested they'd wiped out the credit we had with them. As it happens it HAS been transferred (and I was ready to scream at them for being thieving !?$%!s!!). ...

I would have thought they would have to notify you in writing of such a change, surely it could cause serious hardship if you were asked to pay the extra on top of your regular payment, or even as a lump sum? Were you asked to notify them of any pay rises at the time of the increase or only when you...

Hi Diesel You need to get in touch with your IP asap and let them know all your details and you may need to do another I&E to show how much worse off you are, and if it's in the 15% threshold you may be able to lower your payments without the need for a variation meeting with your creditors. It does...

Thankyou for your replies, and a little update: luluj you were right, you CAN apply online for tax credits, however they are doing some major system upgrade so the online bit keeps disappearing and you can only fill in the 'Do I Qualify?' bit now (which wasn't even there last week - and you couldn't...

Hi Lulu Yes I have a form to complete, however I have to attach the Entitlement To Benefit letter in addition to the form being completed. Such a laborious process. And a contract of employment or termination letter - I have never received either of those so I've requested my ex-boss types up some t...
