Hello People. First of all I'd like to thank Andy and Melanie for getting me through some difficult times, they have given me really good advice that has kept me sane. My IVA has been approved subject to modification in February and I was tempted to let sleeping dogs lie. However, I noticed one or t...

I've received the f+f statement from dfd. Their conclusion states . . . Mr W wishes to present this offer to creditors for consideration. I have advised Mr W that is likely that creditors will either reject this offer or request that it is increased due to the level of redundancy package received. M...

The thing that really upsets me is this . . . I am going through the worst time of my life, I may never work again - yes I'm getting a big payout - but all I'm asking for is a fair crack of the whip in my attempts to re-establish some sort of integrity in what has been a totally shameful experience ...

Yes I am, the IVA is due to terminate in April 2009. I am due to be made redundant in December. Melanie Giles and Andy Davies gave me a very strong indication that my redundancy pay should not be taken as a windfall as I would then have no income or any means of supporting myself. The redundancy pay...

They also said that if I send a letter from my employers indicating what the redundancy payment would be then if my creditors accepted my offer, it could be settled within 6-8 weeks. Still very worried about their statement that the redundancy payment is a windfall.

Didn't go well ! They are insisting that the redundancy payment IS a windfall. I could apply to retain some of the redundancy pay - but not all of it. What are my options ? Is there any legal statutes that I can quote ?

Thank you - that helps a lot. When I first got onto them, I was speaking to some sort of customer rep, who said that the redundancy pay would be seen as a windfall. She also said that I might be able to keep some of the money and gave me the impression that most of the redundancy money "might" have ...

I've been in touch with Debt Free Direct, and first they told me I had to have the redundancy money in my account, before I could give an F + F settlement. At which time the redundancy payment could be seen as a windfall and potentially 100 % would have to be paid into the IVA. This would leave me d...

The 25% discount was mentioned by a different debt counsellor to my IVA supervisor, and I think it was suggested on the basis that I could offer that, but my creditors may accept or reject the offer. I'd be happy to make 100 % of the outstanding contributions, if it meant getting the IVA off my back...

On the 18th of December (after a 90 day consultation period), I'm going to be made redundant. My IVA is scheduled to terminate in April 2009. Before tax I will receive 40k and expect to get around 34-35K net as some 27K is pure redundancy which is not taxed, the rest being notice - 3 months, bonus, ...

Hi, I've contacted my company about freezing my pension and await a response. Today in the post I got my Annual report to creditors from DFD. The conclusion that they came to is that the final dividend will be in line with the proposal, so long as I maintain. Some of the figures sound quite high and...

Yes - if anything my monthly payment has gone up slightly from £ 510 to £ 550 a month. When I got the IVA, I had £ 7,500 worth of stock which I agreed to sell - but as it was reaching its sell by date, I only got a nominal amount back. However, I have pretty much paid the shortfall through bonuses a...
