Hi everyone

I hope you're all doing ok on your debt free journeys.

I need to speak to a mortgage expert as I need advice on buying a house. How do I contact the ones on here?

Thanks

Alan

Hi, everyone Well, that's it! I received my completion certificate today, after 3.5 years of being in an IVA. I don't want to rub it in, I just wanted to share and say that it's all worth it in the end. Keep going, all, and it'll finish before you know it! I moved from PJG for Creditfix and signed t...

Hi, everyone I'd just like to take the time to post a positive comment about Creditfix. After being in an IVA for just over three years and then being transferred to CF, I found myself in the lucky position of being able to offer a F&F. After being transferred from PJG and seeing on here all the cha...

Hi, everyone I have a creditors' meeting scheduled for next Wednesdasday, to offer a full and final settlement. My offer amounts to the number of payments left times my monthly amount. I'm really excited and yet terrified that it may be rejected, too. What I'd like to know is, how likely is it that ...

That's not the case either. I only ever had contact once per year; my IVA has run perfectly smooth for three years and it was transferred. As someone previously stated, it will be a purely commercial decision. It would've been nice to have been informed prior to the transfer; that's how good busines...

Hi all My annual review was due in September and I sent all required information to Melanie Giles in August. Since then, as a lot of people have experienced, my IVA has been transferred to Creditfix. I have had nothing regarding my annual review and want to understand what happens in they miss the t...

Hi, all I have signed, as the new T&Cs seem non material in terms any direct impact to me. Like most impacted people on here, though, I was angry and disappointed with the way the whole thing was handled; to have no consultation process is ludicrous, and would only happen in the crazy, shady world o...

Guys I feel I need to point out that the UK has the cheapest energy prices in Europe. True, prices are increasing and will only continue to do so whilst we're dependent on fossil fuels but that's because it is becoming more and more expensive to extract them. As another poster said - I would imagine...

That sounds more than fair and thank you for clarifying! Getting to keep 50% of any pay increase is certainly good incentive to progress the old career. Anything that provides more of a buffer and gives creditors an improved return seems sensible.

Thanks again, Mel

PS. Don't you ever sleep!? :)

Thanks for the speedy response! So, as I thought, there wouldn't be any benefit in seeking a significantly better paid role as the additional funds would be swallowed up by the IVA. I know a lot of people may not agree with that view but, often, the additional salary is paid to compensate for additi...

Building on the pay rise question: if one received a pay rise, say 6 months into year one, does the 10/50/50 rule apply for the duration of the IVA or is it reset at annual review; thereby reducing the client's available funds back to that of the original agreement? The company I work for has frozen...

If your monthly payment is reduced then will the IVA be extended? My monthly electricity payment has been increased from £125 to £170 but it amending my IVA payment means extending the term then, personally, I think I'll try to struggle on...

It's only a Bank Holiday weekend! Whoop whoop! What makes it even better is the fact that no Credit Card bills are going to come through the door!

So, raise a glass (preferably a full one), to being in an IVA and have a wonderful extended weekend!

I, too, am happy with the fees I pay. My IP company has offered a premium service since day one; I have never felt as though they're (Melanie Giles) in it simply to make money. I suppose that's what it boils down to... Are you happier now than pre IVA and do you feel valued and supported by your IP?...
