Hi, Darcus. As in your other post, they can only say no at worst. I was in a similar situation to you after less than 12 months into the IVA and they agreed to me having a lease car through work and Salary Sacrifice is very similar. Please give them a call today, as with the bank holiday coming up y...

Again, only PayPlan can tell you but in my case they said as long as my IVA payment was to stay the same, it would be OK. My allowance for running my own car was also removed but even though the lease car cost more, it actually worked out cheaper in the long run than what I was paying to maintain my...

Hi, Darcus. Only PayPlan can answer that but when I was with PayPlan I leased a car through my job and they were OK with it. It wasn't salary sacrifice but the principle is the same. Remember to get any agreement like this in writing from them.

I was with PayPlan and after a year into my IVA leased a car through work. All PayPlan said was that as long as it didn't affect my payment, it would be OK. I got this in writing from them so please be sure to do so.

Hi, Lesley. I agree, it is the little things that mean a lot and it's solid evidence of leaving the IVA behind you.

You could also try your bank for a credit card. I did after my IVA finished and got a standard credit card from the Co-Op at 12.9% interest.

Hi, Su.

I got one from my mortgage provider and the other from my bank, (the Co-Op). When I rang the bank I explained straight away what I needed and they were happy to do a letter.

Hi, Sue. I am in a similar situation as you are, in that I completed my IVA with PayPlan in June 2013 and I received my completion certificate in the December. This was explained to me in writing, and on my completion certificate, that it was on the proviso that any outstanding PPI claims would stil...

It is a pain as it's just going through the motions, but you do need evidence. I got a letter from my mortgage provider and bank who were both sympthetic as after 4 years my credit record was fine, but their policy is no to anyone in an IVA.

Hi, Brokebryn. Nice to hear from you. I'm pleased to see that ex IVA'ers continue to read and contribute to this board. It's also good to hear from Skippy as I think she is the only member I can recall was posting when I signed up for this site in April 2007!

Hi, sponge. Yes, I think it was you. But, as Lesley says, if you pay the balance off in full the interest rate is academic. I just feel better with a card from a mainstream bank. I've yet to use it, but I will shortly just to make sure it works!

'don't worry about that, it's years down the line and won’t really affect you'. - I'm amazed that someone at an IVA company would say that. It sounds like a line from The Simpsons when Homer buys a car and the salesman glosses over the balloon payment. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who sa...

Hi, Foggy.

It's a standard current account with no overdraft. I opened it prior to commencing the IVA as I was with HSBC who were one of my creditors.

After receiving my completion certificate just before Christmas last year and checking my details on Noddle, (which has no record of my IVA on it), I decided to apply for a credit card. I don’t particularly need one but it will be necessary if I need to hire a car for a holiday next year as well as ...

This happened to me as well. I queried it and was told that it was computer generated and to ignore it. Maybe they should programme their systems correctly!
