i have received a letter from hsbc today saying they have sold my debt onto someone else. what does this mean as i have been in an iva for nearly 5 years i have 3 more payments left!!! does this mean that i will get letters of this new company?[:(]

thanks for your advice yesterday!!! i looked at both those links and i am going to look at going with co-op bank. i have been reading this forum for a while now and knowing what i know now i wouldve gone with melanie giles company. also thanks to niobe for answering me yesterday

yes it was natwest. i was really embarrassed by it so just said i am not bankrupt said thank you and walked out. so would the co-op or barclays give me a basic bank account and which one would be the best to have?

thank you. i did tell the bank that i was in an iva and they said so long as i wasnt bankrupt that would be fine. then she did a credit check and it came up on the screen that a had a bankruptcy order. i found it really upsetting as i know i have never been made bankrupt!!

hi, i have been in an iva for nearly 5 yrs and just recently changed my car insurance to cooperative, which i pay monthly by direct debit.

thank you melanie for your reply. i agree its partly my fault, i wasn't sure what to do but i did ring and inform them of a change to my income as i had changed jobs and thought thats all i had to do, i was a little wet behind the ears when it came to my iva as it was all new to me at the time.
