Thanks mattyboy. I wish I could have a treat. My income went from £30k+ to benefits. Redundancy package now run out after a year, and still too ill to work. Next big hurdle = fight to keep my home, but I'll hand the keys back rather than run up mortgage arrears. No point in that, as I would have bee...

Hi emptyspaces. Sounds like a very good offer. Would this be from 3rd party funds? From proposal to acceptance, mine took 14 weeks, and then another 36 weeks for full completion - though the latter was delayed by the VAT/PPI issues. Lots of luck with yours. x

Thanks both. The best thing so far has been the reaction of my friends and parents - who have supported me every step of the way. To be honest - they're probably glad to hear the last of "How much longer do I have to wait for my ¬$@*"£# completion certificate!!

Hi Guys. Just to let my forum family know that I've finally received my Completion Certificate from Payplan!! [:D] My Case Officer emailed to confirm it last night, and said it would be put in the post today. I held off telling you - as I wanted to see it for myself - to believe it's all finally ove...

Hi mazbrown. Good post to read. Some companies get a bashing - some deservedly so, but it's good to praise the individuals who do work really hard and provide such a good service to their clients. Credit where credit's due!! x

Hi James.gk. Welcome to the forum. Great advice from lulu - as ever. Also, other mitigating circumstances for wanting to end early will help your case, such as job threat, reduced income etc. Good luck. x

Hi In_deep. Really? Are they serious? You must be a better person than me - 7 times?? I'm with PP and I sent mine off last November, and have heard nothing. If I were you, I'd contact Equity in Finance directly to find out exactly what's going on/check their records to see if they do actually have t...

Hi marsha1. Who are you with? I only ask as 3 of the 'big ones' Payplan, Grant Thornton & ClearDebt have or are seeking variations to enable them to close cases in lieu of continuing to pursue PPI. PP was first - last November and ClearDebt shortly after. Yours is 'early days' in the scheme of thing...

Hi RuMa. Welcome to the forum. What a sorry situation for you both - it's awful. Are PP not willing to ask whether your payments to date can be accepted, and end your arrangement? It's just so close to the end for you, although it sounds like they are saying they are interlocking due to the joint de...

Hi Mr Upset. Welcome to the forum. As lulu says...It should be straightforward, but please be mindful that standing orders are instructions you give the bank to pay out, unlike DD's which is money requested by the third party to be paid. This means you are the only one that can cancel the SO/instruc...

Hi rae57. Welcome to the forum. Assuming you will have paid in £1200 by the end of this month, £6k would be the balance of payments remaining. If you could offer close to that amount, given your circumstances, you stand a good chance, especially if you may struggle to find work. Also, ensure they kn...
