What I can't understand is the difference in time it takes to sort out a full and final offer from start to completion certificate arriving in the post. It took from the start of the process to receiving our completion certificate 2 months to the day. I have read of an awful delay in quite a lot of ...

Hi, Thisusernametaken (great user name by the way), I agree to a certain degree with what your saying, banks have a lot to answer for. Prior to the financial crisis they would throw credit at you constantly. It is true that some have been put into a bad position because of it, however, I think the v...

Not being funny or anything but surely the banks are entitled to getting the PPI compensation back from those of us that have either been in an IVA or are in an IVA. We've spent their money and repaying less than we actually borrowed. In some cases a huge amount less. The other problem I can foresee...

I'm think I'm right in saying Foggy that they disappear on the 6th anniversary of when they were put into default so for example I had an IVA that started 26th Feb 09, F&F Feb 13 but one of my creditors defaulted me in May 09 so will stay on until May this year then disappear. That's just an example...

Many congrats on your CC, it is a massive relief when it arrives. As for being free of your IVA etc, well if you have completed the full 6 years then yep I think you are except for any ongoing PPI's. The other thing is that your IVA still shows on your credit file albeit as completed until the 6th a...

They lost a court case and may have to stump up quite a bit in compo, however, they would just write it off any debt you have with them if your in an iva or similar is my understanding so in most cases won't make any difference in the long term to the iva. Even those without an iva etc they will onl...

Forgive my ignorance, my understanding is that part of the 'contract' if you like is to achieve a minimum of so much in the pound.....we had to achieve 75p in the pound. So if you have achieved that by the end of the original term then surely that should be it. At the start creditors realise that it...

My understanding to this is yes they can. You will have to find another bank that is not one of your creditors. You have to be careful with that too as some banks are owned by others for example RBS owns Natwest and Lloyds own Halifax etc. To confirm this one of the experts will no doubt tell you.

Ah right so it will come off the register after three months of completion regardless of how long you've got left on it ?? and your right Mel....once it is paid off that should be it...you have paid back your debt to everyone's satisfaction that should be the end of it !!

don't forget welshwiz though my understanding is that it won't come off the register until the 6th year anniversary. it also stays on your credit records but just says completed until the 6th anniversary !!!
