Iamfubb, I was just trying to get you to expand on your point but, never mind, it seems there wasn't one.

Michael, I admire hugely the fact that you and Melanie - almost alone amongst the industry - continue on this forum despite taking entirely undeserved flak from some. I've never directed any criticism against either of you - why would I? That doesn't absolve the industry as a whole, however, or addr...

Iamfubb, what's your own take on the 'style' debate you mentioned - apart from the 'toe-curling' entertainment ? is it just some like me rubbing up people the wrong way or is it maybe the issues touching a nerve ?

Thank you for the intervention, Ginger. I've always tried to direct anything I've had to say to the question. Unfortunately, there are some posters on the forum who see every post as a comment on their own. Short of limiting every question to a single answer, I don't know what can be done about that.

If you'd like an observation rather than an opinion, Kazza, I've been called patronising and supercilious by two of the posters on here today and I would suggest that if I'm to re-read before posting to check the tone, these posters are obviously themselves more than indifferent to both the tone and...

It's a nice idea. But most people were driven into a debt solution and didn't exactly volunteer for one. I think if they tried your idea - even collectively - the system and circumstance would soon ensure they were driven back. Perhaps I need to give it more thought. What's your thinking on how that...

Maybe kazza, but I also think some people read into things what they want to read into them.

Mark, 'Cover-it-all' is a forum expert and insurance broker with strong experience of how insolvency can impact insurance quotes. I'm sure he would be able to steer you in the right direction.

Michael, You're quite right. We've not seen the inspector's letter and it may be he's treating the underdeclared position - as he sees it - as an error. All I'm really suggesting is that he should keep his accountant in the loop on this given the potential consequences. I'm sure Hyperdrive will make...

Hyperdrive, I hope the'chaps' at Worthing - which must be the kindest thing they've ever been called - live up to Melanie's expectation. Maybe they will, but as I understand it the investigation has already concluded and I do think - particularly in the present climate - it's only sensible to cover ...

Daniel, I entirely agree. This is an open forum and doesn't require any more moderators deciding what can and cannot be discussed and in what 'style' - never mind requiring everyone takes legal advice before being admitted to the debate ! I would also just point out that legal 'advice' is just that ...

Hyperdrive, tax investigations usually find something - if only to justify the time spent. You are, however, being accused of tax evasion and , I think, should also speak to your accountant as well as your IP in view of the potential action the Revenue could take.

I'm afraid I cannot see any connection at all between this thread and anyone being deterred from starting a new one. In fact, the evidence is there that many new threads have been started whilst this one has been running. I'm sorry if you were insulted on another thread, that obviously should never ...
