might be that some lenders have a minimum time after completion before they will even look at giving you a mortgage, i think santander won't ever look at giving someone a mortgage if they have ever been in an iva or bankrupt.

we are using ryans firm to get us a mortgage and they have got us one with a high street lender despite our ages being 44 and my iva finishing in march this year so it can be done.

so when your answering the mortgage questions they seem to ask now if you have had any adverse credit in the last 6 yrs, so what would be the correct answer? is it yes as i've been through an iva in the last 6 yrs or is it no as i haven't tried to apply for credit so in theory there is no bad record...

so now we have the dreaded black mark of an iva against us does this alter the multiples of what mortgage companies decide to lend us? i think we may have up to 30% as a deposit on a new house we have seen costing £400k but im not sure how far this iva will go against us even though it's completed.

the mortgage is there and my mobile, all in i think theres 5 on experian that all say good with no missed payments. just a bit surprised when my bank refused a different account but if it's still on the register then i suppose thats why
