They all record the phone conversations. For about £10 you can do a subject access request under the data protection act where they will give you copies of all correspondnace including recordings of phone calls that they have had with you.

It very much depends on the wording of your agreement. And even then on your and their interpretation of that agreement. If your IVA terms state remortgage then it should only be a remortgage! Hopefully one of the experts or someone with more up to date knowledge can add to this? The original thread...

At least your IVA company are looking at this now and not months after you have made your final payment. Sign the paperwork and work with them to get your completion certificate as soon as is possible. I don't believe that they would actually fail your IVA for non compliance, but they can sit on the...

It is all too easy for your IP to force their interpretation onto you! The very fact that you are in an IVA is likely to mean that you do not have the resources to pay for independent legal advice! I agree with Michael that you must be seen to cooperate with your IP, BUT if the wording of your IVA t...

It is good to see that Cleardebt have finally got their act together and are dealing with PPI cases within the term of the IVA.

It is much better than doing it months after your final payment.

You are on the homeward stretch!

Do not get any joint financial associations, not even a joint bank account! You would then be financially linked!

When they do a credit search on you, they would see the link and then do a search on your partner.

They will be unable to do anything to adversely affect you. That said, you have in principle already agreed for them to reclaim PPI on your behalf for the benefit of your creditors in your IVA! It is unlikely that you would personally be able to benefit from any future PPI claims, so that being said...

I wish that I could offer you some positive news; however as the non-resident parent or the paying parent, you will not find any government support.

This is just my personal experience that applies to IVAs and most things in general. If you kick up enough of a fuss and cause the offending party enough grief, then they will, if they are able to, resolve your complaint to make you go away!

As an uneducated suggestion, you could consider not servicing your other debts and paying as much as you can off the cards in your parents name over the next couple of months? This would have to be prior to entering into an IVA.

You would need to do an income and expenditure exercise, which most IPs and debt management companies would do with you. Of your £2.4K per month income, what would be left after paying all of your day to day bills including your mortgage but excluding servicing the debts? This would be your remainin...

It is not unheard of for an IP (even a supposedly reputable one) to threaten to make you bankrupt in order to force you to comply with their request. There are a couple of really helpful and knowledgeable experts on this forum. If they are not able to answer your questions then you have the option t...
