Hi, I have finally finished paying for my IVA after five years, just one more year to go before its off my credit file Yippee. I would like to wish everyone in an IVA that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that five years is not as long as you think. Finally I can start saving for a life o...

Hi, I am coming to the end of my fifth year in an IVA. I was hoping to get a first time buyer mortgage once my IVA has completed. I was wondering what the chances of getting one? How much different it would be financially compared to someone without an IVA? Would it be possible to get a 100% mortgag...

Yeah but surely it would be more beneficial to pay all my debt + insurance than an IVA which will affect me for the rest of my life when applying for any form of credit.

Is it normal to pay back about 95% of your debt during the whole term of the IVA? Yes, this amount does include all fees to the IP, however knowing that I will always have difficulty getting the best rate of mortgage and other best rates for credit, was it really worthwhile? Yes I must admit 4 years...

Cheers Tony, I'm glad you could advise so really you don't see much difference between someone who had an IVA and someone who never entered one with regard to rates. Do all mortgage providers ask if you have ever been in an IVA?

Cheers Andy thats what I thought would happen. I presume this means that even though I needed it at the time an entering into an IVA, it will effect me for the rest of my life with regard to getting the better rates of interest both in a mortgage and loans.

Also would I have to state I was in an IVA afterwards?
Would I always have to go to a mortgage provider who deals with people in our situation?
