Thank you. I just wanted to reassure others it is possible as many posts I came across were rather negative. Reading a post like this would have stopped me worrying a little.

Well, it wasn't until after raising it with the financial guy that I even realised there may be an issue and only stumbled across this forum again via Google. I was a member but hadn't been back on here since 2013! But, yes, that would have been the ideal.

I fully agree that we should be paying back all of the original debt - and that is my point.

We are paying back the original debt plus around £8k more on my husband and £7k on mine.

It just seems a lot.
