Chrissy - an honest answer isn't only the 'best' approach - it's the ONLY legal approach. If the question is asked, you must answer it honestly, or you commit fraud. It's up to the lender what criteria they use; if they wanted to ask you whether you've ever owned a dog they could. Essentially a lend...

My other half and I (I found out later she'd told her mother but never told me about it!) kept things to ourselves during our IVAs. I told my ex-boss as I knew he'd been through debt problems years before when a hotel business he'd run failed, but didn't tell anyone else. The day we got our completi...

"if they did, I say "no",, is this the wrong thing to do?" Not only is it wrong, it's also something called 'Fraud'. Is it really worth going to court to buy a house? It is possible to get a mortgage at high street rates after an IVA from normal providers. I've done it, and moved into a brand new ho...

Are you sure there is something iffy going on? Do you have any evidence with which to support your beliefs? It is worth just bearing in mind the trouble and heartache it could cause the person about whom you hold the concern if they're subjected to investigation and questioning only for nothing unor...

Ask GT for the evidence of lifting the RX1, as I didn't get anything from them until I queried it.

It's also well worth bearing in mind that: The credit 'score' the CRA gives you is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. It is simply a money-making scheme for them. DDs will have no impact either positive or negative on your credit file as they are not recorded - the *account status* of your account may be if, fo...

Apologies in advance if anyone thinks this is harsh, but... Seriously, you would be well advised to talk to a professional debt adviser rather than just keep asking all these unstructured questions. Why not get them all out of the way in one simple conversation with a human, rather than this convolu...

Borneo and others

That's the same as I received in October 2012, and was accepted by the insolvency service and CRAs as the certificate, so you've got what you need.

You might get away with it if your IP is feeling generous, but you may find they (IMHO quite rightly) say that you're already paying for dental care via your National Insurance contributions, so Denplan is an unnecessary luxury. Mind you, I suppose you could "take up smoking" and ask for that allowa...

Absolutely. I've secured some mainstream credit since my IVA finished, but with lenders who were not connected to any of my previous creditors. Make sure you also check which lenders are parts of the same group as so many are owned or part-owned by each other!
