Hi Lefran, To try and respond to your points: 1) I wish I knew of an IVA before selling house to repay debts and then having to borrow again to meet demands of life, expenses and cost of living. That's really sad to hear :( Hopefully you can find a silver lining in it somewhere 2) After nearly two y...

Good luck - it is very daunting but very worthwhile. Ask all the questions you need to so that you are sure it is the right solution for you - a good IVA company will ensure you are going down the right route or advise you otherwise.
Best wishes on your journey.

... the wine is open and I would be lying if I said I haven't shed a tear of joy, relief, I don't know what! It has been a very long, very hard 5 years particularly on the children who have been as much affected by this as we have. However, it has been worthwhile and we have come out the other side ...

Just out of interest, how are wages pay dates viewed in relation to the day you make your IVA payment? For sake of argument, if my SO for the IVA goes out on the 14th of the month but I get paid on the 18th of the month, should any overtime etc count for the payment already gone or the one the follo...

(to put it into perspective, I am going to be more than doubling my hours. If, for sake of argument, I had been doing 25 and will now be doing 55 but will in effect only get paid for 28, it doesn't really seem worth the extra stress, time away from family etc ! I'm trying to rationalise it that it's...

Thanks Foggy - I don't have any more annual reviews, as I am in my final year and close to the end. Due to the proximity of the end of my IVA I have been told to just ring up and make an additional payment over the phone for each month that it applies to (it is a permanent increase in hours) of ever...

I am reluctant to say too much on here as I don't want to be identified, but when I did approach my IP regarding a potential increase in hours I was told I had to give them everything over 10%. I have the potential to take on a new role at work but there seems little incentive if I am going to see v...

There should be no cost, as we were advised to approach estate agents and say we were looking to sell to get a free valuation from them. I'm not totally comfortably with doing that as it is dishonest and surely if the IVA industry require valuations as a standard thing, there should be an independen...

Evening all! We are heading on to the time when we need to look at an equity release. Under the terms of our agreement: - We must attempt to release any equity from the property - If the equity can not be released, the IVA will be extended for 12 months - LTV must be a maximum of 85% - If the equity...
