This is something that really confuses me about the statements in the iva document. In one instance it says no new credit can be obtained, then says credit upto £500 doesn't need to be declared.

I can't see anyone, short of PDL's giving credit to us in iva's even under £500

unfortunately yes, as foggy states third party claims companies usually take about 35%, your IP will likely take their cut too, about 15% then the rest is, sorry should then be distributed amongst creditors.

Our main car was and is still on HP in our iva with Toyota FS. The payments were protected similar to a mortgage or secured loan would be. I wouldn't expect that you would lose the car unless VW are anti-iva. Once our HP agreement ends, the iva payment increases equal to the HP value.

Hi UpToMyNeckInIt, the wording in my iva is the same, as they were taken out at similar times i wouldn't expect much different. When I asked the SC advisor she said "it's not in the spirit of the iva to take out credit, but yes it was allowable". The IP wasn't so lenient, saying that any further cre...

damit, I'm with StepChange and when I claimed a PPI they claimed the full amount for themselves less the HMRC tax. Wish I'd got the 8% interest it would have been £5250, oh how depressing :(

Is it possible to fudge the figures? Where your over, reduce them and add the difference to figures you're lower on? I know CCCS done this on our original budget so don't see why PayPlan can't do the same.

If you have a local credit union they may be able to help out, although being in a iva they may prefer her to have savings to borrow against. Can't remember the exact criteria but some CU's will consider lending to iva'ers. I was advised by my IP's assistant doing this for less than £500 (in my case...

I would be interested to find out if you were successful in getting your IP to allow funds to be returned. I'm just searching for similar topics as I'm in the same boat, so to speak. I've received a large payout from PPI on loans that weren't included in the IVA and following SC blog advice that the...

This must differ between IP's? We received written confirmation from our IP that from November 2012 our income allowances would be combined and treated as one joint allowance for both incomes. Makes it far easier to decide if we owe any over payments.

Both my wife and I regularly have business expenses reimbursed through our pay. Our IP advised to deduct them from our take home pay before seeing if we owed anything extra to the iva.
