Me and husband made our final payments at the end of December - 6 long years (added year due to Equity Release) but it did actually go fairly quickly. I haven't posted on here for ages but at the beginning of our IVA's, this forum was a lifeline for us with great advice and support. We have been wit...

Paul We have had to do 6 years, finishing in December so the end is in sight! Well done to those that have survived l...

I haven't posted for a while but as we approach the 60th month of our IVA's (we are both in one) I wanted to post to give some encouragement to those of you have only recently started on your IVA journey. I had my first conversation with Melanie Giles's office in October 2012 after getting to the po...

I did everything online - log in and there is an option to upgrade or you can have a look at the Rewards accounts and then select them. Good luck.

Hi, I've just switched our Natwest Basic Account to a Rewards account with no problem whatsoever -probably because they are charging you, they don't really care!

Hi, looking for advice on possible F&F (although not for some time yet)! If a third party is offering you funds for a F&F, does the IP usually insist on seeing evidence of the funds eg a bank/savings statement before they will put the F&F offer forward or would a letter from the third party with the...

Gov.uk says a child can leave school at 16 but they must do one of the following until 18 - stay in full-time education, start Approved Training/Apprenticeship or part-time education if they get a job. If your child does one of the first two, you will continue to get Child Benefit until they are 19 ...

The conditions regarding equity release and any possible loan/extension will be clearly stated in your IVA proposal so you should check it before taking what this person has told you. Our IVA says that we need to get a valuation in month 54 and we will be doing that (not there yet - coming up for mo...

Surely if your income will be reducing/ceasing, your IP should review your I&E and reduce your IVA payments? If that is a few months from now, then I would hope that a decent IP would put a variation forward to the creditors for a F&F based on the payments you have made over the 5 and a bit years. I...

Hi, we are currently into the 4th year of our IVA's (month 40) and hoping very much that one of us will be below the £5k equity threshold so that one of the IVA's will finish at month 60 (we have a declaration of trust giving my husband a greater share of any equity as he put down a larger deposit)....

If you are already in an IVA and your Wonga loan(s) were included, you need to let your IP know that the loans have been written off. This happened to me but the Wonga outstanding amount was so low that it didn't really have any effect on my IVA. However, the IP needs to get in contact with Wonga an...

We have already decided that we will tell the estate agent the reason for the valuation when the times comes for our Equity release valuations. As others have said, you can get the fee paid by your IVA although, if it's not too much, we will probably try and pay it ourselves.

I don't understand what you are saying about paying the IVA for 5 years and then trying to raise the equity for 5 years? Your IVA should have been 5 (or 6) years and then possibly a years extension. I would check your IVA proposal very carefully to see exactly what it says, making sure that it IS an...

Hi, surely if this is the new cost of your car insurance then you need to advise your IP and do a revised I&E with the higher amount? If the increase had been a much smaller amount it wouldn't really have mattered and you probably could have afforded it but this is a significant increase and I don't...
