Hi melanie Yes the house and everything else was sorted, all credit to the trustee at GT who handled everything they were brilliant. We had a bit of a hic up with Mums re mortgage, and had to renegotiate the BI a couple of times but they never made an issue of it and it was all settled quickly. Time...

Hi all I have not been around for quite some time and notice lots of newbies around which is a good sign that the forum is as popular as ever and that people are obviously finding a great level of support here. Thought I would drop a line to let you know that I was discharged earlier this month. Its...

Hi

I had three valuations and I didnt tell any of the estate agents why, I just asked for a quick sell valuation and asked for it in writing, which all 3 did and at no cost.

As it was the trustee(on behalf of the OR)then carried out their own valuation through a 4th estate agent.

Hi Just to let you know if the insurance policies have no cash in value then you do not need to 'buy back' the policy you also have the option to cancel your existing policies and start new ones and this was exactly what I did. The OR should confirm this issue in writing to you. Obviously you need t...

Hi Stuffed Any bank account held at the time of your Bankruptcy will have to be disclosed and could be subject to review from the OR so may be temporarily frozen, it is usually suggested that you open another account on the day of your Bankruptcy. The Co op offer a basic cashminder account and accep...

The decision to go BR is one of the hardest that anyone can have to make. for each of us that has taken this route we have all 'paid' in one way or another. It certainly isnt taken lightly, and i think it is unfair to assume BR is an escape route. We all seek a solution to a similar problem and the ...

Hi anfieldbabe, Sorry that an IVA or DMP is not the solution for you. However please dont think too negatively about Bankruptcy. I was devastated when my IVA was rejected and had visions of ending up in the workhouse when Bankruptcy was my only option. If that is your only option then consider it wi...

Hi melanie and thankyou No price set as yet. But I spoke with the new trustee today and had a good chat. I asked roughly how long the process should take and they said they could act quite quickly but will need to arrange their own internal survey but if I was open to it they could possibly arrange ...

Hi Wondering wether it would be prudent for the 3rd party and myself to see a solicitor prior to them purchasing the BI on my property. Melanie, I would appreciate it if you could suggest a solicitor who is familiar with BR and BI in our area. Also, I knew that as the sole owner, the whole property ...
