I must admit I have been wondering about the fall in house values and IVA's. When I did my IVA it was something that I thought might happen. My supervisor told me that if the equity release could not be provided then the IVA would be extended by a year. If this is not happening then is this another ...

Might be worth check with a car credit broker to see whether you being in an IVA might affect you. When I changed my car it had an effect on my credit but as I cleared my original HP they took that in consideration and helped me. That was with British Credit Trust who were helpful.

Hmmm Co Op just have VISA on it!!!! I was quite impressed with as taxpayers providing an IVA to RBS and Lloyds. They are not very good conducting themselves with some of their bonuses! Me thinks they should make a larger contribution to their IVA if they have these excesses. Must point this out to t...

The best thing to remember is your IVA supervisor is going to have a large impact on your life and you must feel comfortable with them. If you can try and talk to a couple of firms. Tell them everything and don't worry they have heard it all before. IP's are qualified accountants and they are all ve...

Hi Melanie Nice to hear from you and thanks for the pearls of wisdom!!! Trust you are well! I paid 100% as we had to sale the house in 2007 and what really caused a major problem was that we were liable to a statutory interest but you strongly advised us to vary the IVA which we did and thankfully o...

Glad I came back on my site as I just found out that I may be able to recover my VAT back from my supervisor that is if I can find him. Looked at their web site and found he is no longer there so a call to ICAEW will be required and a nice letter to his firm that he worked for is in order I think! I...

Hi look at the Co Op and HBOS Easycash account. You should also look at Cash Plus Mastercard as well as it is a creditcard but you have to put funds in first with a small monthly charge of £4.99 but is very useful.

I would have thought this should not affect the person in the IVA and basically it is between HMRC and the Supervisors/Accountancy firms involved. From my understanding the accountancy firm will claim the VAT back from HMRC and this will be paid over where it should be allocated to the Creditors as ...

Hi Kazzy
You should be ok as IVA's only affect those in professional life ie Fully qualified accountants. The AAT is a lower but good qualification and there should be no problem!
Go for it and good luck!
