Did you make your IP aware that you were receiving hassle from your creditors? And whats more did you make your IP aware that there was a creditor threatening a summons? Are you sure that you have a CCJ registered against you. Hello Thank you both for your replies. I have just trawled through the mo...

I do not really believe that Rob was actually judging anybody, I think that he was merely shocked that a horse would be an acceptable possession to be kept in an IVA situation. in addition the costs involved with the same which can escalate if the animal is injured or sick plus all the other ancilla...

Hi Rob I thank you for your response. However my response has not been intended to "have a go" at those suffering a financial crisis. I have responded to illsutrate that an IVA is a process that is as stated previously a way forward which carries consequences which for the most part and amongst othe...

Hi Yes Ang I believe firmly that anyone who has suffered a financial crisis learns from it and set their sights for the future of course. But at the time of the crisis most people do not know which way to turn, and are reliant on those who have the knowledge to guide them through. It would appear th...

I would like to add that whilst what I have said about horses and valuable pets may sound harsh, unfortunatley it is a sad fact of life that when indebtedness comes calling at our door the things we love most have to take a back seat. I do not believe for example that a wine lover who subscribed to ...

Hi Andy Obviously not, but I would say that a horse can be worth £500 or £50,000, my point being on the one hand that a valuable horse that holds some value would undoubtedly be classed as an asset in bankruptcy or otherwise, as would pedigree show dogs or cats as these can hold significant value to...

Hi As a passionate horse lover and rider I understand more than anyone what a horse means to someone. However when one is indebted the expense of keeping a horse becomes an issue. A pet yes, loved yes of course and I feel for anyone who has to face selling a loved animal but reality is that debts ha...

Hi Andy I have not had the benefit of reading the original and therefore do not understand the fuller facts of the case. However with regard to keeping a horse, and that it has been stated by Melanie that in bankruptcy a horse would be permitted to keep. I would question this as a horse surely woul...

Black Horse normally require 40p in the £ these days but one would have to look further into your circumtances to be able to evaluate your case. Debts with Black Horse, MBNA, Northern Rock, HSBC are normally quite difficult and require a minimum of 40p in the £, which sometimes can be negotiated in ...

I beleive that you are not wrong I am afraid to say, however it would depend on the value of the vehicle. The fact that the vehicle was in your husbands name ( and there is a time limit with reference to this which I think is 6 months but not absolutely sure) the transfer into your name would come u...

This does not sound very good at all if you have returned all your documents as requested, and for the proposal to contain such glaring errors. Grant Thornton are a very old established firm and I am surprised that you have experienced such problems. Edwina I am using Grant Thornton, started IVA pro...
