Our house was valued 87k in 2007 and now its worth 60k in a quick sale situation. One of the major factors in the depriciation is the dire need for repairs and of course the economy going to pot.

I received a shirty letter of DFD regarding PPI and how it was my responsibility to chase them up, so to cut a long story short I emailed EiF and was told that they were waiting for a creditors report from DFD which they requested in June 2011.

We both have contracts with Virginmedia which we started about half way through the IVA with no problems. I'm not sure if that was because we were existing Virgin customers though. However, we were declined by Orange.

Hi Robert,

The first thing I would do is speak to the IP. IVA's exude an immense strain on relationships and you're probably not the first to go through an acrimonious split during an IVA. Good luck.

We are with Swinton now but been with Directline before. The only trouble I had was with LV who didn't mention anything about the IVA but said they could't offer me anything because of a poor credit history. Swinton are great though.

DFD told me that we couldn't use a secured loan as they only allow 65% LTV whereas their Preferred Mortgage Broker offered upto 80%. I could understand this vein of logic as it obviously gives the creditors a better dividend. Perhaps they are offering Secured Loans for people who for age reasons can...

DFD's parent company owns a sub prime loan company. I'm pretty sure this is their "preferred mortgage broker". It wouldn't be as bad if it actually mentioned this anywhere in our agreement but it doesn't so as far as I'm concerned all the bullying and coercion we are facing is someone desperately at...

We were faced with the same predicament. We were sent a letter saying that according to their information DFD insisted that our property is worth £86k and we needed to give permission for our details to be passed to their "recommended broker" so a mortgage offer could be presented to the creditors. ...

Congratulations SometimesTina. My dream car is one I don't need to dismantle and re-assemble every 4 weeks. Can't wait to be out of the IVA, knowing that I've paid back all we can. @No More Cards24 - Looks like our IVA is a 7 year one as well, with hopefully 12 more payments in lieu of an equity rel...

Hi Melanie, I got home to find a letter from DFD asking us to re-value our property which is obviously a good thing. I shall contact our mortgage provider and a few others to get the best offer (if any) of remortgage and submit them at the same time. In the mean time I will send DFD a holding e-mail...

I will post the points from the chairmans report pertaining to equity release when I get home. I cannot see any references to using a specific lender or being locked into using an antiquated ...

Hi guys. Thought you all deserve an update. Our house was officially valued at £68k, we currently owe £56k on our mortgage. From what I've read on this site I understand that leaves me with less than £5k available for release with an 80% LTV mortgage. One more request for advice, would it be prudent...

Hi Slushysnow. Staying positive is the only way forward in life. I really hope my IVA is in the december of its life. I've made 72 payments and I'm hoping that my IP agrees to a 12 month extention in lieu of equity release from my run down hole of a house. Over the past few years I've read numerous ...
