<t>My ex-husband and I were not advised that one of us could have gone bankrupt, i.e. me, and he could have entered into an IVA. We were told that we both had to enter into it for one to work, and that our monthly payments to them would be between £288.00 and £309.00 for the first 6 months. This mea...

Just out of interest, but if somebody is in an IVA, can they apply for a mortgage on a flat or a house whilst in the IVA? A friend of mine asked me how that would work. I said that it may be best just to "stay put" until the IVA is over and done with, but I did not really know what to say, to be hon...

Well done Steve! Sounds to me like your IVA providers are legends! Good luck - and I hope for you they continue to be good. A 200 mile round trip to meet you? Crikey! How many people are prepared to do that? That is really good, personal service. Sounds to me like you have hit gold.

The Bay City Rollers - I remember them! A bit before my time, mind, but not only slightly.

Good to see Simple Minds still rocking it!

Yes, we were with them, Baldy - Why did they change it to StepChange, but not the number? I recognised the number immediately when I saw their tv advert recently. The interesting thing is, tv adverts for that length of time costs between £2 and £5k to make...Hmm, are my IVA contributions going towar...

They certainly did, Claire. And Prince did the brilliant "Money Don't Matter Tonight (And It Sure Didn't Matter Yesterday)"

Hi Foggy,

I have already tried what you have suggested and guess what - no progress made on that one!

I spoke to a nice chap from VB online last night - he gave me some good advice so I may try what he suggested.

Thanks for your help [:)]

Hi Baldy, I am sorry, but you have lost me on that one... I have left a voicemail for our IP Supervisor to contact me after 2pm today, and I have also e-mailed the IVA C.S. Team for (what feels like) the 50th time this month! I frequently update them on our circumstances, provide them with docs, etc...

I have asked the IVA Customer Service Team and IVA Review Team of a well-known IVA firm some key questions about our IVA. I have given them over a week to answer my questions fully - still waiting for them to answer! However, they are clearly quick to contact me when they want the following:- An up-...

I wish we had been given the chance to shop around for an IVA provider instead of being 'coerced' into the one recommended by the debt charity with whom we had been dealing for a year beforehand. [:(] Jim, you are an inspiration. My regret is not going with the same crowd. I am envious and glad for ...

Welcome Finance! Oh, god - not another story of sheer incompetence! My husband had problems with these muppets 9 years ago - until I got involved, wrote some snotty letters, etc. And that was that. Incidentally, one of the letters was copied to the FOS...that seemed to help the process somewhat! Giv...

So GT are being slow in releasing CC's...? Doesn't surprise me in the least! They are slow in answering my 4 key questions which I sent to them over a week ago - by email. And I included the Supervisor's name in the email requesting that he read it and ring me at 4pm today. Did that happen? What do ...

To all IVA clients It may be an idea if you all find a spare 30 minutes of your time to read about the Data Protection Act - some IVA firms are guilty of asking for your consent, not being given approval, but still release your details to other 3rd parties regardless. Other firms may not ask for you...

Hi there! 40+ claims, eh? And you did not know about them? So how the hell did EIC get to find out about them? If you did not allow GT to share your details with EIC, then GT have actually broken DP Act rules. One of the most basic is this:- "all clients' details including name, dob, address, etc, h...
