<t>Hi - I am in year 5 of my IVA and am at the point where I have to try to remortgage. Without coming across as totally clueless, what steps do I take to do this? Do I approach my current mortgage provider, I have a joint mortgage with partner but IVA in my name only so not sure how this would work...

Hi all – I joined here a couple of years ago and found all the advice invaluable when I was starting my IVA. I’ve now been in the IVA almost 2 years, paying approx. £230 per month and although it has been tough, I was getting there. I’ve now been made redundant and will leave my current job at the e...

Hi - I'm just over 12 months into my IVA, getting there slowly but surely (this forum was invaluable when I was going through that process) Before I entered into the IVA I fell prey to a fraud (holiday booking, non existent property). It wasn't the best of times but I've since filed it away on the '...

Wanted to pop back on with a quick update. IVA approved earlier this week[:D][:D]. I joined forum a couple of months ago when I reached a real low point and thanks to all advice picked up here the whole IVA process has been straight forward, mostly because I had a pretty good idea what to expect. Ha...

Hi Ben10. I read your post last night and whilst not agreeing with how or what you said, between the anger I could see that you were going through the very feelings I went through just 6 weeks or so ago. Through advice on this forum I found the answer to every question that was keeping me awake at n...

I just wanted to post for a couple of reasons. First, to thank everyone for taking the time to reply to my post a few weeks ago when I hit rock bottom. All your advice and that found on the forum was invaluable to me during what I now call ‘that weekend’. During ‘that weekend’ reality hit home big s...

Thanks Foggy and I will take your advice on board. I'm keen to pay as much back as possible but at the same time need to make sure it is realistic otherwise will still struggle. Not talking about luxuries just general family expenditure and enough to put by for emergencies.

Thanks nutkins, I think maximum £350 per month with careful budgeting that should leave enough to be able to put some aside for emergencies, although that would mean totally cutting out all non-essential spending, like kids activities, birthday treats and I can't bear to think about christmas. To be...
